The Protector and the Vengeful Instruments

Becoming the Protector of the Light Realm

                       “You cannot hide from me Dahlia, I can feel your every breath. I can hear your blood flowing through your veins to your heart makes me want to grab it and eat it raw! Your little sword cannot kill a demon like me and guess what? One of the two instruments bestowed by Solomon that can kill me is even missing already … Do you know which one? It’s the amulet of Grimoire. The only thing that hinders us Darknighters to unite the two kingdoms and rule to entire Light realm! “Said Lilith while walking and destroying every single thing along the way. 

                         She slowly approached the closet and opened it. A long blade come out of it. But Lilia was able to hold it using her bare hands, she used her strength and the blade broke and shattered into pieces. She grabbed one of the pieces of the sword and stab Dahlia piercing her heart. A boy started shouting. 

“Mom! Mother, where are you” the boy shouted. 

                    “Lilith threw Dahlia's lifeless body to the side and slowly went downstairs and saw the boy. It was Zack. His eyes grew big and appeared shocked seeing a creepy creature. He attempted to run but Lilith was very fast. She held him in the neck and was about it twist his head but a dagger wounded Lilith’s arm. So she dropped Zack. She looked at the blade and it was the same piece of blade she used to kill Dahlia. She looked for the person who used the piece of blade that wounded her arm and she saw Dahlia. Alive but nearly dead due to her injuries.

                       “Mom!” Zach shouted while coughing and holding his neck. Lilith was about to step on Zack’s head but Dahlia used all of her strength and magic to attack Lilith, a light beam hit her. Dahlia grabbed Zack’s arms and helped him stand up while struggling to escape. She pushed Zach out of the house and created a magic portal. She saw a light coming from his pocket. 

“Zack, get in faster!” she said in a very weak manner. Both went on the portal and disappeared. Lilith woke up and found out that both were able to escape. She attempted to look for them but she noticed that she’s staring to disappear, an indication that the amulet is no longer in the mortal realm.                          

                        “Mom!” said Zack with tears coming out from his eyes, one after another. Wake up, stay with me. I don’t understand what is going on. Where are we, what is this place?” Zack cried while hugging Dahlia with half of her body lying on the grass. 

Dahlia opened her eyes. “My son, there are things I need to tell you before I die. This is the light realm this is where you came from. I’m not your real mother. My real name is Dahlia, I’m your mother’s most trusted lady-in-waiting. Your mother is Princess Idionne. She has to protect you that is why you both were separated”. 

“No mom please stop talking about this non sense. We will go home, both of us. No one is going to die.” Cried Zack.

 “The amulet, do you have the amulet?” What amulet, I don’t know!” Said Zack. Dahlia pointed her finger towards Zack’s pocket. Then Zack suddenly membered the odd looking object he found early today. He grab it out of his pocket and Dahlia hold it firm. 

“My son” she said. “This is the amulet of Grimoire you are the new protector. You have to go to Nethilore and look for your grandfather. You have to become the protector!” She held the amulet and give it to Zack. Then her hand lost its grip to the amulet.

                         ” And just like any other Lightwalkers, her body slowly disappeared and returned to the sky, back to the sun. “No. no please, mom please don’t go!” Zack tried to catch every speck of light but unable to do so. He stumbled and cried continuously until he passed out. 

 *** Kingdom of Avrok 

                      “What did you just say?” asked by Ascarus angrily. 

“My lord it is true, I did not find the amulet of Grimoire, it is not in the mortal realm but I found Dahlia. She is with a young mortal boy. They have been living in the mortal word for years! They deceived everyone in the light realm. She did not die together with Idionne.” …

  ”The Soul Staff would never lie! The amulet was there, but you failed to retrieve it! And you also failed to kill the protector” Ahhhhhhhhhh”. Shouted by Ascarus angrily. 

                     He used to the soul staff and wrapped Lilith’s whole body with soul-eating souls from the staff. But he eventually let go. “You will never fail me again, or you will never be able to”… said Ascarus. He walked out of the main hall leaving Lilith running out of breath. 

 *** Woodland of Ogres

                       Zack slowly opened his eyes and found himself on a moving carriage. He soon realized that his hands and feet are tied in a rope.  He tried to stand up but could hardly do it. He saw a small hole and sneaked a view outside of the carriage in hopes of seeing the person responsible for the situation he is in. He was shocked and yelled loudly. 

Aaahhhhh!!! He saw elves. Real elves! The carriage stopped. So he pretend to be asleep. One of the elves opened the back door and checked on Zack. 

“He is still sleeping” said the elf. 

Phew, good thing! It took us all our strength carrying this big guy on the carriage”. We are about to get paid with gold and gems if we will sell him off! “. 

Zack opened his eyes and started yelling. “Wait what? Who is going to be sold by who? Hello? I am a living thing! I am a human! With a social security Id! You cannot just sell me off! 

The elves laughed. “We knew you are just pretending to be asleep. We tricked you. “Who would even dare buy you, look at you. You look weird. You wear weird clothes. You smell weird.” We are good guys here you know”. 

 “Woah wait look who is talking, I’m strong you know, and besides that, I am big. Bigger than you. But if you guys are not going to sell me off why did you tie me up? And why would you bring me here! What would you do to me? Asked Zack. 

“Well we, are about to give you to a griffin for his lunch”. “Wait what? “No one is going to get eaten, and what is a griffin? Asked Zack.

 “Seriously you don’t know what a griffin is? “No I haven’t seen one”. Zack answered. 

                        “It’s like thissssssss….the elf grew big and started to have a huge pair of wings. Its head turned into an eagle but a body of a lion. Zack was pretty amazed but more terrified.

 “Knock it off Uni” said the other elf. Then the elf went back to its original form.

 “Did you just turn into a beast?” asked by Zack with a trembling voice. 

“Yeah, by the way my name is Eko and this is Uni. We are elves from the Anhlon (the city of elves) what’s your name?” Asked by the other elf. 

My Name is Zack and I know you guys are elves but do elves can really do that?

Yes of course, not only that we are good at locating gems and gold we can also transform into beasts like what you have seen earlier. It is a gift from God Solomon to protect us from other creatures who want us harm. 

“Woah cool, I didn’t know that!” I read some books when I was young about elves but it did not tell me something like that and who is Solomon anyway?” Zack asked.

 What kind of book is that, can you even call it a book when it lacks correct information? “Asked by Eko. 

“Maybe it’s one the mortals’ books. They don’t know much about us, mortals tend to make up things. And God Solomon is the Ultimate God who created the Light realm and all its living and non-living creatures out of his wisdom.” Uni answered.

“I see, in our planet, I mean where I come from we have Jesus and the Father God, so I guess faraway places like this happened to have different names for God. Something I’ve never heard of.  But how come you know a lot about humans or mortals as you guys call it, have you been in New York? Do you know a way to go back? Zack uttered. 

“Years ago, elves always visit the mortal realm. We help them find gems and gold, help them with stuffs like making shoes and all. Some mortals know about us and we wanted to help them as we think they are weak. With no magic and special abilities, we pity them. But who would have known that some mortals are greedy and selfish. When Uni went out to the mortal realm to help them he ended up in the hands of cruel mortals. He was locked up and they made numerous bad things to him. They even cut his other ear off! Good thing it was discovered by Elder Elf Onvai and were able to rescue him, that is why he only has one ear and to answer your question, from that day our Elder Elf Onvai prohibited us from visiting the mortals and no one ever does after that. So no, we no longer know a way to go to the mortal realm. Only the most powerful creatures can create portals to go to the mortal realm”. Eko answered.

 “So that’s the reason why only the elders know about weird stuffs. “ I’m sorry to hear that Uni, I didn’t know. It must have been hard…

“No I’m good with only one ear as long as I can hear” Uni replied.

“But do you know where can I find people who are powerful enough to create portals?”…

 “Well there is the king of Avrok,  Ascarus but that’s if hate being alive and you want to commit a suicide. And there king Conandus of Nethilore, he’s kind but he is a royal so you can never meet him” said Eko.

“Can you guys help me talk to him?” Zack asked.

 “To talk to the king of Nethilore? hmmmmmm... of course not!..

“What? Buy why?”… “Because he is a king and you’re a mortal, plus you smell bad Auuughhh. Uni replied.

“C’mon! Please help me? “...

…It’s not easy Zack, first we need to go to Nethilore then take the one in a million gem chance to talk to him…

“Wait what if I show them this….”

 Zack opened his hand and the amulet of Grimoire appeared. “Uni and Eko jumped on him until all of them fell on the ground.

 “Where did you get that? Asked by Uni”… Don’t you know that everyone in the Light realm is looking for that amulet?” You are going to get us killed! Hide it real quick!

“What’s the big deal man, it just showed up to me while riding my bike on the way home”…

…”We cannot doubt the amulet of Grimoire, I guess she chooses you as the protector”. Said Eko.

“Wait so she? This necklace is a girl?” asked by Zack.

 We have to bring you to Elder elf Onvai we need his help, quick Uni and Zack, get in the carriage now.” Said Eko. They all rode the carriage and Eko had a lot in his mind. He knew he has to make Zack safe in any way he can.
