Chapter 9: I love you

Aiden's POV

It's been 5 days since the accident. Lucia has still not woken up, and I fear the worst. My hope for her safety starts to sink. I haven't eaten or had proper sleep days, I just could go a moment without thinking what happened. I didn't even tell her the werewolf history, nor the vampire or any other things she needed to know. And the reason is because I was scared that she might leave me. And she probably will after this. 

I sat next to her, gently holding hand. Her heartbeat and breathing was steady, the pinkish color had started to return her sweet soft lips and cheeks. Her body was starting to get its warmth back. So there is still hope for her.

I started to remember our memories together. I remembered how she laughs when I say the corniest joke or when I tickle her. How she smiles when I bring her food or flowers, how she pouts when I "forget" to give her a kiss before leaving or when I tease her for something. How she looks up to me with those beautiful blue eyes. How she looks when she wakes up after a good nap on my chest. How she never wants me to leave her alone. How she clings to me when she is scared, and how she snuggles up to me when she is cold. How she cuddles me close when I had a bad day, how she gently strokes my hair and calm me down. No matter what will happen, I will always love her. 

I felt her grab my arm tighter. When I looked up to her, her eyes were slightly open. "Lucia?" I said, gently stroking her cheeks. She looked at me in confusion, but then calmed down quickly. "Oh, Aiden, it is you after all" she whispered softly. "Yes, yes its me dear, you are alright now don't worry. " I smiled to her, my tears were threatening to go loose at any moment. "Hey, Aiden, don't cry or you will make me cry too." she smiled to me. God, how much I missed her voice. I couldn't hold it in anymore, my tears ran like rivers. Lucia gently sat up and brought me closer to her, holding me tight, gently kissing my head and saying that everything is fine. But she didn't understand my fear of losing her. "oh, Aiden please. If you think you getting rid of me that easily, then you are wrong" She laughed, and I did too. " I wasn't trying to get rid of you darling, you know I would never do it." I got myself together and looked at her. I gently stroked her cheek, gently giving her a kiss, which she gladly returned. We sat there in each others embrace. Then there where some knocks at the door. As we pulled away from each other the door opened, revealing my mother and father.

Lucia's POV

"Oh sweetie, you are awake." his mom smiled to me. I weakly smiled back and leaned onto Aiden chest and he gently hold me close. I was still tired. I was barely able to sit up, but I knew I had to because of  Aiden, even though he is cute when he is protective, I couldn't do this to him. His eyes were so broken, tired and empty when I woke up, that's when I knew that he really was worried and blamed himself for what happened. 

"How are you feeling, honey" His mom asked me again, coming closer to the bed. "I...I feel better, thank you" I answered in a low voice. My throat was so dry I started coughing like mad. "Oh dear, you didn't drink for a few days, here" Aiden mom took a glass of water and handed it to me. I drank the whole glass within a few moments. When I was done I leaned back to Aiden, looking for support, my whole body hurt. "Alright, alright Lucia, take it slow. You are still hurt and weak. Aiden will be here with you till you are better." she smiled, gently taking the glass and placing it on the table next to me. "You should be fine in 2 days, and then we...well Aiden will tell you everything you need and want to know, or whatever you ask. It is on time you know everything. Oh and you will meet the rest of the family." she smiled to me again before giving Aiden a stern look. I felt him hold me tighter after it. "Aiden, you don't have to...only if you want to...." I weakly said, looking up to him. "You need to know Lucia, everything. That creature that bit was a vampire, which means no matter what happens you will be in danger. Even after few years they can still be hunted by them and even killed. They will hunt you even if you break up with Aiden..." her voice was sad. "Why....Why would I break up with him in the first place." I was starting to panic. "Wait, you aren't angry at me for not protecting you, not mad at me for turning your normal life upside down?" Aiden looked at me with shock. "Aiden, its not you fault. It happened. I'm alive, and there is no way I would stop loving you because you tried to save your family." I told him, gently stroking his cheek. " you are my family Lucia." Aiden said and pressed his forehead to mine. "I love you" we said at the same time, giggling afterwards. "Alright now lovebirds. Rest both of you. We talk tomorrow." Aiden's dad said sternly. As we nodded, they left and we where left alone. 

"Alright babygirl, lets sleep, we both need it." Aiden said, gently placing me down on the bed and laid next to me. I turned to him and cuddled onto his warm and comfy chest. He gently kissed my head and stoked my hair. "You know I love you Aiden, right? no matter what happens I will always love you." I whispered into his chest, taking a deep inhale and sighting out. "I was scared that you would leave me after this. But now I know that you will stay by my side, and I will protect you at any cost. You are the love of my live." Aiden yawned and hold me even closer now. "And I will stay with you forever." I finished off before sleep took us in.
