Ch 03.8

Sector twenty one, the laboratory ruins, Lilia What happened in this laboratory can’t be described easily. When I first found this person, original human sample 007, I realized something that disregarded all laws and morals happened in that institution. Experiments on the genetics of any sentient species is strictly prohibited by the interplanetary law, so unless it’s to find a cure for an illness that might cause extinction every race that is part of the Union is strictly prohibited from tempering with genetics. The law was signed by the majority of the members thousands of years ago as a result of the will of each race to preserve the purity of its blood, stop mutations from happening and to stop the manufacturing of biological weaponry. As a result of that exact law a number of legislations of the same purpose appeared on each of the sentient species’ planets, causing further complications in the relationship with outsiders. According to my companion who introduced himself as a male human –something that is well known to not exist in this day and age– the objective of those who constructed this place is not only to restore the male side of humanity, but to also make them as strong as possible. It seems that there were complications between the male side and the female side in his time. Even though there were laws in place that prevented discrimination and society was moving toward a state of gender equality, the human females still felt oppressed and discriminated gainst by the male faction. From his explanation I understood that physical strength had something to do with it. That brings us to the current human empire. As a government that rules over several planets that are inhabited exclusively by human females, the return of the males would cause major problems. The males would never accept being ruled by the females, and the females would never hand over the power and control to the males. If humans could reproduce without the need of the opposite s*x then a male population is unneeded and could be brought to extinction without any grand impact. He speculated that the enhancements in abilities that were experimented here were to ensure the survival of the new male-kind and its return to the ruling positions. My opinion on the matter is: humans really like to waste energy and time. The problems he described never existed on my planet, everyone had their assigned role. Sure, most of them are based on the characteristics of one’s gender but no one complained about them. After all one can only do what their abilities allow for. Incidentally, unlike humans Zesionien females have a higher physical strength than the males. That gave us an edge in the military side of things but other than that everyone is mostly equal. Hm? Now that I think about it could it be that, since I’m a female, O.H.S 007 has been looking down on me even though we are from two different species? We do resemble humans to some capacity after all. At least in outer appearance. If it comes to a contest of power I’m pretty sure I can beat him with ease. After all I have won against foes far bigger and stronger. However my intuition is telling me to be really careful when dealing with him. I don’t know what abilities he gained after being experimented on. But human females, huh. If he’s seeing me as one, would it be possible for him to find me attractive? It’s hard to tell as his expression barely changes when we’re interacting. I don’t like to boast but I was quite popular back on my home-world and I received many marriage proposals. If I compare him to all those males who wanted to be my partners I would say he doesn’t have the slightest interest. He does stare a lot though so I could be wrong. O.H.S 007 is a strange person, but it’s nice to have someone to talk to after so long. I still get this strong urge to get away from him, for reasons I don’t understand, but I don’t have many choices right now. As long as he isn’t dangerous I think I will tolerate him being around.
