Chelsea
Kevin doesn’t have a clue I left the beach house not long after he did. I’ve been standing against the wall inside the bar for five minutes, just staring at him.
Within those five minutes, I’ve seen two girls come over to him, and make their move. Happily, to say, Kevin had pushed both of them away nor did he give them the time a day.
A smile appears on my face as I wander toward Kevin intending to sneak up on him, unannounced.
“Ah,” I yell when someone takes hold of my arm and jerks me around, causing me to lose my balance. “Jason,” I say, surprised. Not only am I shocked he’s here, but I’m also shocked at the strength he used with me.
Jason lowers his mouth to my ear, “Walk with me,” I grimace at the tone of his voice. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to follow him because the fucker uses his strength to drag me.
Clearly, It wouldn’t make any sense to holler for Kevin because he wouldn’t hear me over the loud music.
Jason drags me to the narrow hallway by the bathrooms, “You divorced me to f**k him,” He screams in my ear causing my ear to ring.
I attempt to move, but Jason doesn’t lessen his grip. Instead, I massage my ear to stop the ringing. “My personal life doesn’t involve you anymore.” I study Jason’s appearance and notice he looks awful. His hair is unkempt and greasy looking. Also, his eyes are icy blue as if he’s on some kind of drug.
“Your life will always be my business,” Jason claims as he shakes me roughly by the shoulders.
“Let me go, Jason,” I state, nervously.
“I thought you needed a f*****g break, Chelsea. And, here you f*****g run to him.” He slams me against the wall and stoops to where his face is in front of mine, “I’ve been f*****g watching you, so I know you’ve been laid up in the beach house with him the entire f*****g time.” He spits, evilly as he brings his hand to my throat.
“You’re scaring me, Jason,” I tell him with my voice, unsteady.
Jason has manhandled me before but not as harshly as he is now.
This Jason is nothing like the Jason I once knew. Everything about him has changed. In fact, I’m not sure if I even knew him at all.
Without warning, Jason slides his hand to my neck, and gradually adds more pressure as he speaks, “You’re coming home with me, Chelsea. And, you’re never f*****g leaving again.”
I slightly shake my head since I cannot speak with his hand around my throat. Apparently, all I’ve done is anger him more, “Look what you’ve done to me.” He yells.
I didn’t do this to him. And, I refuse to take the blame and feel pity for him. Truthfully, he’s the only person responsible for his behavior, not me.
I hate his f*****g guilt trips, and how he tries to make me feel horrible for something that is not my fault. At one point, his guilt trips were my weaknesses, but not anymore.
The tears run down my face, one after another as I attempt to pull his hand from around my neck. “Didn’t I f*****g tell you to never put your hands on her?” Kevin’s voice thunders over the music.
Immediately, Jason releases me, and focuses his wrath on Kevin, “You’re the f*****g reason she divorced me.” He spits, “The stepbrother who always wants to play the superhero.”
“I don’t play s**t,” Kevin says as he takes his fitted hat off and hands it over to Rick. “The only f*****g thing I’m guilty of is for loving her while she f*****g loved your clown ass.”
“Love,” Jason says, as he snickers sarcastically. “You wouldn’t know what love was, even if it slapped you in your face.” Jason looks at me, “You let him f**k you didn’t you? I saw the way you were looking at him, Chelsea. And, it’s the same f*****g way you used to look at me.” He tsk. “I have to admit though; I didn’t think you’d fall for his lies and become one of his whores.”
Promptly, without saying no more, Kevin jogs towards Jason, and smashes his fist into Jason’s jaw, “I told you to stay the f**k away from her, and let her come back to you when she was ready to, yet you couldn’t even f*****g do that.” Kevin snatches Jason by his shirt and launches him into the wall, “Never in your f*****g life refer to her like she is a f*****g w***e. She is so much more than that, and you know it.”
Jason pushes Kevin’s hands off him, and punches Kevin in his jaw, “You could never love her the way I do. You only want her for her f*****g pussy.”
Kevin’s face turns bloodshot red, “You’re right. I wouldn’t love her the way you do because I’d love her better than you.” Speedily, Kevin swings his right fist, followed by his left fist.
Instantly, Jason stumbles and drops to the ground. Repeatedly, Kevin kicks Jason on the side of his ribs, not allowing Jason to get up, “I’m f*****g tired of you hurting her.”
Kevin stoops over, and delivers blow after blow, “I’ve held her many times while she f*****g cried because of you. Well, it ends here.” Kevin roars as he continues punching Jason.
I notice Jason’s eyes are closed, and his nose is bleeding. In truth, I’m afraid Kevin will kill Jason if he doesn’t stop beating him.
“Stop, Kevin,” I scream, frantically. Of course, my screams go unheard. “Rick, please stop him,” Rick smirks and allows Kevin to throw a couple more punches before he finally tears Kevin off, Jason.
Slowly, Kevin turns around to look at me. “I’m not sorry,” He says.
I wipe desperately at my tears, as I stare at Kevin.
My stepbrother.
My protector.
I’ve had it wrong the entire time.
It’s always been, Kevin.
I’m tired of fighting my feelings for him. So, I run as fast as I can in these high heels and leap into Kevin’s arms.
Eventually, after his shock wears off, his strong muscular arms come around me, “I’m so sorry, Kevin.”
He brushes his hand down my hair, “What are you sorry for?” He questions as he tugs my head back, and wipes at my tears, “I’m sorry Kevin for being a b***h, and doing s**t I know would spite you. I’m sorry for always giving you a hard time about everything and always breaking your heart.” I hide my face into his neck.
“What are you saying, Chelsea?” He inquires as he holds me tighter.
“I’m saying that I want to give us a chance.” I wrap my arms around his neck, “But right now Kevin, we have to get out of here because I don’t want you going to jail.”
I feel Kevin take a deep breath. “You’re choosing me?” He questions skeptically. “You’re worried about me going to jail instead of your unconscious ex-husband?”
“This is not a time for Jokes, Kevin.”
“I’m not joking, Chelsea. I’m f*****g shocked.” I smash my lips to his and kiss him passionately.
Kevin doesn’t hesitate to return the kiss. Lovingly, he slips that magic tongue of his into my mouth and twirls it around mine.
We kiss fiercely and devour each other until we hear police sirens. “We’ve got to go,” Kevin states.
“No s**t, I’ve already told you that.” I tease as I stroke the side of his face.
His eyes close as he asks, “No regrets, Chelsea?”
“Not a single one.” I peck his lips, “Don’t break my heart, Mr. Contagious.”
“Never,” He declares as he carries me toward the door.
“I’m taking you out on my boat,” Kevin announces from nowhere as he walks toward his car with me securely in his arms.
“Full of surprises, huh?” I didn’t know he even had a boat, just like I didn’t know he had a beach house.
“I’ve saved them all for you.” He winks as he glides me down his body.
He pecks my lips, “Don’t break my heart, Chelsea. You’ve done it enough.” He demands as he walks around to the driver’s side.
As Kevin pulls off, I blurt out, “Kevin I have always loved you. I might not have shown it, but I have.”
He slams the brakes on and pulls over to the side of the road, “Don’t play with my heart, Sister. And, stop saying all the right s**t at the wrong time. Do you wanna get us killed?”
“I’m not, Brother,” I promise as I climb into his lap. “And, of course not. I’ve just begun a new chapter in life, and I would like to see it through.”
“How are you feeling Chelsea?” I narrow my eyes at him, “You were married to him, and I’ve just beat him to a pulp. So, I know you’re feeling something.” Kevin has always worried about me and still does.
“He scared me, Kevin. Seriously, I don’t know what would have happened if you weren’t there.” I admit, truthfully.
He teases my lips with his, “If you allow me to, you’ll never have to know what it’s like to be without me.”
His sea-green eyes are f*****g hypnotizing, “I’m going to trust you, Kevin. Don’t break it.”
“Same here Chelsea.” He adds as he presses his lips against mine.
Every ending is a new beginning. And, Kevin is my beginning.
I shut one door and opened another. “I will love you, forever Chelsea.” I grin and attack his lips.
I no longer believe in forever, because forever never truly exists. So, with Kevin, I’m going to take it day by day, and see where life will lead him and me.
