Staring at an empty space, I couldn’t stop thinking of Kayla. It's been 2 days since I laid my eyes on her and it felt like eternity. Since she left for a business meeting with the CEO, Mr Jasper who is the administrative officer was appointed as the acting CEO.
Since I was the director of the Human Resources department, I was appointed to assist him in administrative duties. Mr Jasper on his part did his work squarely but referred the rest to me when he was exhausted. For me, I felt like a mini king because of the respect I was given these days.
But none of this matters to me because this supposed queen of the empire is absent. My concern was raised when she didn’t pick her calls or respond to the message I sent earlier. I had to put in hope as I’ll still see her again.
