Chapter 6
“Hey lads…seem busy tonight?”. Sam's voice echoed as he walked out of the swordsmith's stall with a sword in hand.
Turning around, the men laughed hard, holding their bellies. “And who are you supposed to be?”. One asked pointing his dagger at Sam.
“Well…no one in particular”. Sam replied. He looked around to see five men, two already facing him.
Looking behind them, he could see a knight in silver armor with a lady by his side.
“Oi lads…silence that one while we take care of little miss over here”. They all agreed as the two approached Sam slowly.
“Oh oh oh…I'm gonna spill out yer gut boy”. The shorter one said, smacking his cracked lips. They lunged at Sam swiftly as he started taking huge steps back.
“Oh s**t”. Sam cursed under his breath as one grabbed him by the arm. Without thinking, Sam head butts him so hard, giving him a bloody nose.
“Arrgh…stupid cunt broke my nose”. He yelled in pain, placing his palm over his nose.
“Why you little…”. The other one charged towards Sam, swinging his dagger around as fast as he could.
Turning around, Sam bolted through stalls, into an alley. The men followed in pursuit.
A clash could be heard as Kaelith swung his sword at one of them. The remaining joined the fight, lunging towards Kaelith with their daggers.
“I'm sorry your highness”. He apologized, looking into her eyes. She nodded her head knowing fully well that he had no other choice.
“Prepare to meet your end!”. Kaelith roared, attacking them with all his might. Sloshing sounds could be heard as he easily cut them.
Turning her face, Elara couldn't help but feel nauseous at the sight of so much blood.
Preoccupied with fighting, one slipped by him, running frantically at Elara with a crazy look on his face.
Seeing the man approaching, Elara turns around running through stalls, trying to evade her attacker.
“Your highness!!”. Kaelith called out, seeing her running out of sight with the man behind her. He cursed inwardly as he kept crossing swords with the two in front of him.
Running through the dark alley, she kept moving, hitting barrels and wagons. “Come on little girl, I won't hurt ya”. She heard the man's cringy voice.
Reaching a clearing, she stumbled upon a gruesome sight. There on the floor, laid dismantled corpses with someone standing in between.
It's the boy from earlier, now covered in blood and guts. She felt lightheaded at the scene in front of her, completely forgetting her attacker.
“There you are”. He said from behind her, reaching out his hand to grab her. “Get over here you little…”. Silence came after.
For a moment, she thought he'd have grabbed her by now, or even stabbed her. Looking up at Sam, she looked at the sword in his hand, which was surprisingly clean.
“Finally”. Sam said panting. She followed his eyes, turning around slowly as a gasp escaped her lips.
There, at the entrance of the alley, was her attacker. His head split in two by a bizarrely huge sword.
She could see a silhouette of the owner. His striking blue eyes staring right through her soul. She froze, just standing there, staring at him.
Withdrawing his sword, he walked out of the dark alley, his onyx armour gleaming in the moonlight.
He walked slowly, passing her as he headed for the boy behind her. “He smells of wet earth”. She thought to herself as she blinked rapidly.
“Tha…thank you ser”. She said turning around immediately. He stopped, his cloak swaying freely in the wind, before he continued walking.
“Your welcome miss”. Sam replied, bowing his head a little before turning around, following the onyx armoured knight.
“Your highness!”. Kaelith called out, running through the alley. Seeing her standing in the clearing, he breathed a sigh of relief.
She gave him a soft but reassuring smile as she turned to look at the onyx armoured knight.
Kaelith looked up as well, confusion visible on his face as he stared at the duo walking away and the dismantled corpses lying on the floor.
“Ser!!”. He yelled out loud. Sam turned around waving at Kaelith and Elara.
“Thank you!!”. Kaelith yelled again, hoping to get the Knight's attention. But he didn't even look back, maintaining his pace as they were out of sight.
Walking towards Elara, Kaelith brows furrowed immediately as he recalled the danger they were in.
“Your highness, my apologies…I deserve to die”. He said solemnly, falling to his knees while stabbing the earth with his blood stained sword.
Elara sighed, shaking her head slightly. “Arise Kaelith, this happened because of me”. “I was nonchalant”. She said looking down.
Kaelith’s eyes widened immediately. “ No your highness, If I had been more observant, we wouldn't have ventured so far”. He said with his head hung low.
“Over there!!”. They heard someone yell, as a group of knights on horseback approached them.
Leading them was none other than the Golden knight Aurelion, with a smirk on his face.
“My lady”. He greeted as he jumped down from his stead.
“I've been tasked with taking the princess back to the palace…with immediate effect”. He said looking down at the still kneeling knight.
“It's fine Kaelith…let's go”. She said helping him up as they climbed their horses.

“How did you know where to find me?”. Sam asked as he soaked in a warm bath.
“You yell really loud”. Arthur said shortly, taking of his armour slowly, taking off his mask as well.
Looking at his face, Sam was speechless at how surreal his friend looks.
It seemed like each time he gotto see this man's face, he's always speechless.
“So…that was nice of you…I mean, saving the lady and all of that”. He said, rinsing his body.
“I came for you, Sam”. Arthur said as he layed down on the bed.
“Yeah right…I know you, sly devil”. Sam teased, getting out of the wooden tub.
“So…what next?”. He asked, putting on a tunic. Then a knock came.
“Open, in the name of the realm!”. A knight yelled, knocking again.
“Knights?”. Sam asked looking towards a motionless Arthur still lying on the bed, unbothered.
Rushing to the window, his eyes widened at the site. The inn was surrounded by knights with torches.
