Chapter 14

Percivus

I had been waiting for Maddie to return home for hours now and she still had not returned home. How could she let this happen? She knew that I had made an agreement with the Silver Moon Pack. Malcolm was supposed to be married to Melanie not the Carmen girl. After I had taken the time to come back to our marriage bed and make us a priority. For her to do this to me, was a betrayal that I could not forget.

To make matters worse, my own brother had a part in the betrayal. It was obvious that he was there when Malcolm mated her and officiated the marriage. He also knew my wishes and desires. It was because of him that I had to resort to such extreme measures to protect my family.

I thought that Madeline had come around to seeing things my way.  I am glad that I had taken some of her blood while she slept yesterday. Whether she liked it or not, her blood now sealed the agreement with the Silver Moon Pack. I smiled to myself. She thought that she was one step ahead of me, but all that I had to do was present the agreement to the council and Malcolm's marriage would be annulled. 

When I heard them entering the door, I was trying my best to hold in my anger. I could hear they were tipsy and happy and it just made me angrier. They thought that they had gotten away with something. Wait until I tell them the blood agreement was fully sealed. They would see that they were not as smart as they thought that they were. 

Madeline was the first one that walked toward me and before I knew what I was doing, I grabbed her by the shoulders. "How dare you try to betray me? You know that I had made an agreement with the Silver Moon Pack. Yet, you watched our son mark and marry someone else. What type of mother are you?" I said looking at her with disgust. "I even tried everything to make our marriage work while you were busy trying to betray me. Do you think that I should not have any say about the future of our son?" I asked her

I then looked at Silas. I was tired of his smugness. "You are supposed to be my brother, and you set out to betray me as well. Malcolm is not your son, he is mine." I said

I was taken aback when Silas looked at me from head to toe and then let out a loud roar of laughter, "You are the last person on this earth that should complain of betrayal about anything. You are a grown man that don't even have the maturity to respect his chosen wife. You are less than a man. The next time that you come to me like this might be your last. I am going to bed. Maddie, if you need anything just say so." He said making sure that I knew that he was implying that if I touched Maddie that it would be a confrontation  between him and I.

"Percivus, I have no desire to discuss this. Just know this. Malcolm is married to Carmen and he will remain so and it ain't a damn thing that you can about it" She said. I did not understand why she was looking at me with so much hate. How dare she speak to me this way.

"That is where you are wrong dear wife. When you were sleeping last night, I took some of your blood and completed the seal. So this farce of a marriage will be annulled as soon as I present the evidence to the council. He will be married to Melanie and it ain't a damn thing you can do about it. " I snapped at her, watching her reaction to what I just said.

She narrowed her eyes and stepped inches from my face, " You arrogant piece of s**t. Do you think that I did not know that you would try something like this? You had slept outside our marriage bed for over a year and you thought that I actually would trust you? You can sneak all the blood that  you want, it will not matter. I had my blood sealed with the council weeks ago. The only way I can enter a blood agreement is if two members of the council is present while I do it.  And furthermore if you were as smart as you think that you are, then you would know that the Silver Moon Pack is a sanctioned pack and cannot enter blood agreements of any kind with anyone!" She sneered at me. 

I could not believe what I was hearing. She turned back around at me " Furthermore, even if you could make an agreement with that horrendous pack, you cannot make any marriage agreements concerning Malcolm, nobody can.  Do you know why my so called husband? Malcolm is royal. He made an agreement with Enza long ago that was approved by the council. He is next in line to the crown and he will be a sitting king in less than six months." She hissed

I stood there in shock. I could not believe what I was hearing. I was going to be father of the king with all benefits that came with it. A huge smile spread across my face. I did not need the Silver Moon Pack after all. 

"Don't be too happy my dear husband. For over a year, every time the slightest thing displeased you or whenever you laid with that b***h, you always wanted a divorce. " She looked at me with so much disgust, it was like I never meant anything to her. "I honestly thought that it would be difficult to give you this, but you attempted to stand in the way of my son's happiness. I will not tolerate that from anyone. So here is the certified Divorce Decree from me. It is sealed by the council and King Silas. You will reap no benefit from being Malcolm's father, because we will be divorced before he takes the crown." She turned on her heel and walked into the bedroom and locked the door. What had happened to my sweet Maddie. I simply shook my head, she was tipsy tonight, she loved me too much and I was sure that she would see things differently in the morning.
