RIVER The alarm blared beside me, and I groaned as I reached over to shut it off. My eyes burned due to my little sleep last night. Two hours… that was all I managed, maybe even less. I spent the rest of the night tossing, turning, and staring at the ceiling until sunrise. Whenever I closed my eyes, I saw Mrs. Wilson’s face, heard my voice raised against her, and felt horrible.
