Chapter 6: New Beginnings at Shoremore

1036 Words
Rosalie wakes up bright and early, looking forward to the first day of real school; yeah Rosalie enjoyed the orphanage but still feels as if she doesn't fit in. Hopefully with this being one of the only schools within a 100 mile radius she is sure to find someone she can actually feel herself around. Rosalie gets dressed and grabs her bag running down the stairs two at a time to wait on Lara to take her to Shoremore. In the car on the way Rosalie was jittery with excitement. Once Lara pulls up to a huge brick building and Rosalie jumps out. She stands there star struck looking at the door. After a small breather she picks herself up and marches toward the door. Rosalie busts through the door at Shoremore as if she owned the place to only be stuck with sudden regret as she did. Everyone's eyes were locked on her and at the moment she notices this is definitely not like her other school. With everyone's eyes on her she can tell their eyes are all either a glowing dark red, golden brown, and deep blue color. Rosalie decided to just shrug it off and she thinks to herself being homeschool was nothing compared to what this year will be. Rosalie wonders down the hall looking for the office, taking in all the signs and posters throughout the school. Rosalie finds the office at the end of the main hall. She stands outside the door for a second to work on her nerves then she reaches for the door handle as she does and another girl's hand was already there “excuse me are you going in or not” Rosalie quickly withdraws her hand and nods as she walks in. Walking up to the front desk Rosalie told the lady that she was new and needed her schedule. The lady at the desk glared at Rosalie as if she was bothering her. “I've got to know a name to get you anything.” the lady harshly said Rosalie remained calm and stated her name is Rosalie Dark. The lady's began typing to find the schedule then printed it for Rosalie. Rosalie smiled and took the paper then headed back out and looked over the schedule to see what her first class for the day would be. She recognized the room number from her walk to find the office and headed straight there. She takes a deep breath as she walks through the door of the classroom. She looks to the front of the class and sees that the teacher was a man maybe in his twenties and as handsome as can be. Rosalie blushes thinking about how hot he is as she walks over to him. Rosalie hands him the pass from the front desk letting him know she is new; he instructs her to find a seat. Rosalie turns towards the class to find an open seat when she notices the girl from the office was in her class and walks over to where she was then sits beside her. The girl was quick to put it together that Rosalie was new and introduced herself “I’m Clarie it's nice to finally meet someone new around here” Rosalie smiled and told her that her name was Rosalie and that she was from Evermore. Clarie frowned “oh i'm sorry” she stated Rosalie just looked at her and then figured out she was talking about living in an orphanage. “I was young when I was taken to Evermore so that's all I have ever known. It's home to me” Rosalie tries to settle Clarie from feeling bad. As class went on the girl compared their schedules and had a few other classes together. When lunch rolled around Rosalie was starving. She got her food then met Clarie while walking to a table. They both sat down at the table and a few others were already sitting there. She recognized them from classes she had throughout the day. Rosalie was stuffing her face when Clarie asked if she had heard about any of the events going on here at school. Rosalie nodded “yeah i saw a bunch of posters. Is any worth going to tho?” Clarie jumped out of her seat “like duh” Rosalie just sat there. Clarie kept talking about the events like they were all going to be a rager. Rosalie finally spoke up asking when the first would be and Clarie responded “in two months is our fall ball which is a biggie for us around here” Rosalie looked at everyone cause they all seemed to agree on that but not any of the others events Clarie so going on and on about. Rosalie tells Clarie “I'll see about going, but I honestly just wanna fit in before thinking about events cause it would suck to showing up a loner”. “Well you're not a loner. i'm your friend and we can go together. I already can sense that we will be besties just you wait.” Clarie states but thinks to herself going alone to the fall ball or with friends is normal. The rest of the school day seemed to fly by back at home Rosalie figures she should look up shoremore and the fall ball cause everyone seemed to be on edge about the fall ball. Rosalie scrolls though website after website reading some very stomach retching things about Shoremore. But all have been marked as a legend or myth. Rosalie decides she has read enough that the people in her school were nothing like she was reading about. She went to the bathroom and got ready to take a warm bath to soak the day away. Rosalie soaked till her fingers and toes looked like prunes. As she was getting out her roommate started frantically beating on the door needing to pee. Rosalie wrapped her towel around her and headed out of the bathroom. She crossed the room to her bed to slide on her clothes while Lena was in the bathroom. Rosalie layed down and drifted off to sleep easily.
