Chapter 8: Fall Ball

As the sun beams down through the windows Rosalie and Claries eyes pop open full of excitement for the day of shopping ahead of them. They hustled to get dressed and sprinted down the stairs Claire’s dad is sitting in the kitchen eating when they walk in “where's the fire girls” “ dad that's not funny and we have to hurry so we can get the best dresses the ball is tomorrow” Clarie’s dad shook his and told them to have fun handing Clarie his credit card “Just dont max it out is all im asking.” Clarie grins at him “not promising”.

Rosalie and Claire start the day looking for the perfect dress. They go from dress shop to dress shop. Right as Rosalie thought there was no hope they walked by a*****e window and saw a shiny metallic purple mermaid style dress that she instantly fell in love with. Rosalie grabs Clarie, jerking her into the store “i have to have that dress” Rosalie tells the lady at the counter that she wants to try on the purple dress. The lady smiles “gladly dear let me get that for you.”

Rosalie steps into the dressing room and slides the dress on walks out so Clarie can see it. “It’s as if it's made for you” Clarie exclaims. Rosalie looks into the mirror “it fits like a glove”. Rosalie goes back and changes back to her other clothes then buys her dress. Clarie looked around and ended up going with an aqua and teal colored princess gown. The girls decided to take a small lunch before hitting the shoe stores. They wandered down an aisle of shoes looking when Rosalie and Clarie finds a perfect pair of heels that came in purple and silver. Tate told them that the shoes were made for them.

The shoes sparkled like a million diamonds when the light hit them. Feeling accomplished they went to get their nails and hair done, then headed home because it was starting to get late. At home the girls chitter and chat for the next few hours about makeup tips and how they think tomorrow will go. Rosalie’s eye begins to feel heavy so she cuddles up into her bed falling fast asleep.

Sleep was uneventful for Rosalie, but is awakened by Clarie jumping on her yelling "You're going to sleep the ball away," Rosalie frantically jumps up and quickly gets in the shower to only walk out and see there is plenty of time for her to get ready. Rosalie makes sure her towel is tucked, and sits down at the mirror to check her hair and do her makeup. The girls giggle as they get ready. As the sun is just starting to set they add the final touches on and head out to the ball. Clarie’s dad rented a limo for them to ride in style to the ball, once the girls got there they walked up the steps leading to the grand ballroom.

As they reach to open the door Clarie stops and looks around. "Do you feel that?" Rosalie shrugs "What" Clarie tells her"oh nevermind" and opens the door. The ball room is full of all our classmates plus more. We tried to stay out of the way and walked around the wall trying to get to the door to the balcony. When Clarie stops again this time they see a very attractive guy walking towards them. He looks to be a class ahead of them, his eyes gleamed and was as golden as a pot of honey. He looked like he was dragging a female version of himself along with him.

They reach us in the matter of seconds. He starts off by formally introducing himself, while he reaches out for Clarie’s hand “I’m Luca and this is my twin sister Gracelynn.” He tells them, staring into Clarie's eyes. Gracelynn sees that Luca was lost in thought staring into Claire's eyes and begins to nag at him, Luca ignores her. His focus was set on Clarie. Which annoyed Gracelynn so much that she started walking around us as if she was sizing us up, looking at us like we weren't good enough to be around them. Rosalie was standing there getting mean mugged long enough it was making her start to make her feel uneasy.

Rosalie reaches to fix a few fallen strands of hair when Gracelynn notices the small crescent moon behind Rosalie’s right ear. Gracelynn stares at Rosalie making Rosalie feel more uneasy than before. Rosalie gets the nerve to ask her “ what are you looking at so hard?” Gracelynn quickly apologizes then asks Rosalie where she got that mark behind her ear. Rosalie rubs behind her ear over the mark. “Oh that i’ve had that for as long as i can remember” Gracelynn smiles and looks at her brother who was now looking at Rosalie.

Gracelynn whispered to her brother “Should we tell dad about this girl. you know as well as I do that he told us to keep an eye out for someone that had that mark” Luca smiles and nods to his sister. Luca tells Gracelynn to go ahead and go home to tell dad then she could come back if she wanted ,but he was staying here because he feels like he is destined to be here. And that his wolf has found his mate.

Gracelynn smiles at her brother then turns and walks off. Rosalie taps Claire on the shoulder then tells her “ I'm going outside to get some air, if you need me you know where I am.”
