Tybee Island was a parallel island to Savannah and consisted of a small town with shops, restaurants, and wide sandy beaches hosting a pier and pavilion. There was an eighteenth-century lighthouse that still functioned and a museum that focused on the local history.
Marie spotted Cory standing next to a tall, middle-aged woman with gray hair wearing a uniform as she muttered to herself, “Looks like Gale was wrong.”
