Lizzy’s POV “What did you just say?” My hands ran through my hair. Onyx had promised he had it all settled and that I had nothing to worry about, so what exactly was going on? “Are you just waking up? If you aren't on your way to work yet, just don't bother coming because everyone is talking. There are talks about you sleeping your way into being the boss's personal assistant; is there something you are not telling?” Henrietta questioned. I dragged in air. “I will call you back.” The phone trilled as I scrolled through my phone frantically, going through every clip that had me in lingerie, most of the headlines taunting how ugly I looked in it and how Onyx could have seen me fit to stand beside him when I looked that way. “Urgghhhh,” I yelled, hands sweeping across the table in fury when the door was yanked open and Onyx stepped in. His eyes drilled a hole right through the bed before falling on the items on the ground. “You promised.” I stood, pounding hard into his chest. “You told me you would get that out, but you f*****g didn't.” Onyx stood, not moving while my punches rained on his chest, but they barely did a thing as he gazed on me. I continued. “Now there are words taunting me, insulting my appearance, just because you couldn't do a f*****g thing. Is there any single thing you do right?” I ranted in rage. “Are you done?” He asked, holding me with both hands while I dangled. What the f*****g hell was this man doing? “Let me go, Onyx.” I threatened. “Or you wouldn't have both eyes right when I'm done with you.” “You would do no such thing. Sit upright and let me talk.” “No,” I insisted. “I wouldn't be doing any such thing, not when you failed in your promises, you f*****g asshole.” “Enough with the words.” Onyx demanded, and I bent forward, biting hard on his shoulders when he threw me hard against the bed. My body bounced on the bed, the nightgown I had on sliding up my thigh. I gulped in when Onyx's heated gaze glossed through me, before resting on my thigh. “What did you just do?” My voice came out small trying to push myself up when he crawled on the bed. I pushed gently against the bed until he had me cornered with nowhere to go; his fingers ran on my thigh, and my heart slammed even faster when it got higher. “Onyx.” “ Go ahead with the names, little one.” He said to me. “They only make me want you even more; call me an asshole, and my c**k gets hard, hard enough that it makes me want to f**k you right here and now, and I don't want one more word about you not being attractive.” Onyx held my toes, prying apart my thighs with my legs spread apart while my Vjay stayed inches away from the pants he had on. “Onyx,” I breathed out, barely able to think as my word came out feebly. “You told me you had it all settled….you told me…. I don't have to worry, but… . Onyx…” He was getting so close. So f*****g close. His fingers stopped just inches away from my p***y, which throbbed, pulsating harder. “And I did,” he answered. “I did every single thing my men did, but it somehow got out.” “You didn't do a thing.” I mouthed into his mouth, his lips hovering above mine. “I did. f**k it.” He cursed, hands running through his hair, utterly frustrated. “I did everything. Why are you paying attention to them when they shouldn't even be part of those you should care about? What is wrong with you being with me? Being seen with me?” “That has nothing to do with this.” I managed to say. “My reputation is at stake, same with my identity, and everyone is attributing what I have worked hard for to you. Why would anyone do that?” His finger ran on my lips. “You shouldn't live your life or care about what anyone says about you. You have me, and that is all that matters. My team is on it, and I will get a better response soon.” “What about now? What is going to happen? How am I going to work when everyone thinks I slept my way to being your personal assistant?” I demanded, hating how I was beginning to pool in between my legs and how much effect he seemed to have on me. “They wouldn't dare say a word to your face, would they?” “You don't even know what you are saying.” I tried to push away when he held me back, a hand around my wrist. “Who said we are done?” He hooked both legs with his thighs, keeping me strapped to himself. “I don't want this Onyx. I have to think about how I am going to face everyone without it getting back on my face.” “No one will say a word to you, I promise you that.” I rolled my eyes at him. “You surely do make promises that you aren't going to keep.” “I did good on my promise. I shouldn't be explaining myself to you, Elizabeth, but I am because I feel you need to hear this.” “Then what is it?” Onyx’s hands slipped around my neck, tilting my head to look at his face. “I have done everything to take it out, and my team is on it. I can't tell you who did it because my men are still on it, but you have to know that I have it handled. Just this once.” “And then? What is going to happen afterward?” Onyx's eyes darkened, peering right into mine. “Do you think I slept tonight?” His voice was rough. “Do you think I've done anything except tear through every security report and every camera feed trying to find who did this?” He stepped closer. “I don't mind what they're saying about me. I care what they're saying about you,” he continued. “But…” I opened my mouth to say a word when a hand knocked on the door. “Come in,” Onyx answered, pushing himself off the bed when one of his men came in. “Boss, we have located the upload source; it wasn't Tiffany.” “Then who is it?” Onyx asked. “The upload came from within Laurel Holdings, boss.” He reported.
