The weekend flew like crazy, and far from Melody's liking. All this time her and Marcia were getting to know each other. And it wasn't that bad since they had gotten the basics about each other out of the way. Monday morning came all too soon, but there is nothing she can do other than roll out of bed and prepare for the very first day of school.

After shower and all, she was starting to feel a bit out of space because she realised she only knew the residents area and nothing else. She blinked twice to hold back the tears that was starting to form in her big round eyes. She glanced the other side of the room. She looked the only person she knew the entire school and ; 'uhhm Mel!'

Yes sweety! she said putting her books and laptop to her school backpack and looking in the mirror for the last time before she goes to class.

Uhhhm do you mind showing me around the campus if you not late that is? She said her cheeks becoming like tomatoes.

Huh! dont tell me you thought I'd leave you to wonder this massive campus all alone? I am not the nicest but am not that horrible. She said with a little laugh. So sweety dont worry finish what ever you were doing and let's bounce.

Mel was taken aback She had heard the endearment the first time and let it slide. Now she was saying it again with no remorse what's so ever. She was beet red nobody has ever bothered to call her that let alone showing this much affection.

Marcia quit calling me that I am not a child. I may not know this place and need some little guidance but that's about it. I am a grown young lady. She said determined to hide how Mel calling her sweety made her feel.

Hahaha! Mel giggled indeed you've grown. you couldn't utter that much to me when we first met, I am impressed !

Now quit sulking and let's go.

They roamed the big campus, pointing buildings, other students, statutes, laughing and bumping some strangers on their way around campus. After they'd finished Marcia showed Mel where she should get her schedule and where were the engineering classes.

She turned around hugged Marcia as to Thank her and before she went away two young man approached them screaming!

Heeey ssssup Marcia ! They said in unison bumping fists and hugging and squeezing her between their bulky bodies. Mel was left there stunt by what was happening in front of her. She took them as Marcia's friends and decided to go because she wasn't needed there.

She turned and took few steps before Marcia spoke. Hey you too monkey's loosen the grip. hhhuh! she breathed what! you trying to kill me ? she said giggling and she shout at Mel.

Hey Mel! Where you going so fast come meet my two most annoying best friends.

Mel turned back and a small smile was visible but it did not meet her eyes.

She already has best friends Huh! She thought.

Hi nice to meet you both, she said.

Toby and Nes were both smiling they looked at each other before Mel could react they ran to her and moulded her between them hugging the air out of her lungs.

She was frozen in place did not know what on earth to do. She wasn't a fan of being touched or touching let alone being sandwiches between two big boys she never met before. She was Panicking! eyes watery! She wanted to say something but no words could come out of her mouth.

Marcia seeing this and understanding Mel's back ground she went and tap her friends shoulders. Hey yooh! you fools don't frighten her, let go!

Toby let go first, he bent and kissed her on the cheek. We sorry!, he said I am Toby by the way and this fool here is my boyfriend and Marcia's best friend Neshal but call him Nes he likes it. He bent and kissed Nes on the lips.

Mel was beyond shocked, She was shaking. this was all wrong! Them hugging her like that! kissing her was all absurd. But them being together was inconceivable. She felt dirty and sinful and she ran like crazy!

Marcia was dumbfounded, she had no idea what has taken place. One minutes everything was fine her friends were greeting each other the next Mel fleed like something was burning her back. She went closer to the guys and asked what they said to her.

Nes was the one to answer. We just said we are your friends and we together that's all! I swear ! We didn't even get to tell her welcome to the group before she ran.

Toby came to his boyfriend rescue, I doubt it's got to do with hugging her too tight. I think it has to to with us being together! he pointed to him and Nes. I saw how she was bewildered after i told her Nes is my boyfriend. does she have problems with gays or what? Toby ask nobody in particular.

Nes was shocked! Nah! Toby you bugging broe it's 2022 nobody can get irked by gay people or can she? he asked Marcia who seemed far away.

Oooh God no! Marcia exclaimed.

Both the guys looked at her with the "what?" expression.

I'll explain everything once I find her. Dont worry guys its nothing to do with you! She said before she bolted in the direction she last saw Mel take.

The guys were disappointed they really were good people and they were happy to welcome the newest member of their little group. But non the less the classes were starting so they went to their respective classes.
