Chapter Four: Whispers in the Dark
The Adeyemi mansion was silent at midnight, but beneath its luxurious roof, secrets moved like shadows. Each wife lay awake, their minds racing with thoughts of power, betrayal, and revenge.

Adanna’s Suite
Adanna stood by her bedroom window, looking out at the city lights of Ikoyi. Her hands were steady, but her mind was a battlefield. Solomon was getting reckless. If he was truly considering taking a fourth wife, he was underestimating her.
She picked up her phone and dialed an old contact—someone she hadn’t spoken to in years.
A deep voice answered on the second ring. “Madam Adanna. Long time.”
“I need a favor,” she said without preamble.
There was a pause. “The last time you needed a favor, a certain politician’s mistress disappeared. Are we talking about that kind of favor?”
Adanna smirked. “Not yet. Just surveillance. I need eyes on Solomon in Abuja.”
A low chuckle. “Consider it done.”
She ended the call and exhaled. Let Solomon enjoy his games. By the time she was done, he would regret ever thinking he could push her aside.

Teni’s Secret Meeting
The next afternoon, Teni arrived at a discreet restaurant in Victoria Island. She wore oversized sunglasses and a black jumpsuit, looking every bit like a woman who didn’t want to be seen.
She scanned the private dining section before spotting the man who had texted her. He was middle-aged, dressed in a well-tailored suit, and carried the air of someone who knew too much.
She slid into the seat across from him. “Talk.”
He placed a brown envelope on the table. “Solomon isn’t just seeing a woman in Abuja. He’s investing in her.”
Teni’s stomach twisted. “Investing how?”
The man slid a photo from the envelope. It showed Solomon with a stunning, young woman—early twenties, curvy, and dangerously beautiful. They were outside a luxury apartment complex.
“He bought her a penthouse. Funds her lifestyle. Some say she’s pregnant.”
Teni’s grip on the table tightened. “You’re sure about this?”
The man smirked. “I don’t deal in rumors, Mrs. Adeyemi. Just facts.”
Teni exhaled slowly, thinking. If Solomon was planning to bring a fourth wife into the picture, she needed to act fast.
She picked up the photo and tucked it into her handbag. “Send me everything you have. Bank transactions, phone records—everything.”
The man nodded. “For a price.”
Teni smiled. “Oh, don’t worry. If this information is useful, you’ll be very well paid.”
As she left the restaurant, a single thought ran through her mind.
Yasmin thinks she’s won. But she has no idea what’s coming.

Yasmin’s Plan
Back at the mansion, Yasmin sat in her lavishly decorated suite, sipping a smoothie. Pregnancy cravings hadn’t started yet, but she was already preparing. She had just finished speaking to her private investigator—who was digging into Adanna and Teni’s secrets—when she heard a knock at her door.
“Come in,” she said smoothly.
Solomon entered, looking slightly stressed. Yasmin immediately softened her expression, playing the role of the supportive wife. “You look tired, my love.”
Solomon sighed, sitting beside her. “Business is… complicated.”
Yasmin leaned into him, running her fingers lightly over his chest. “You work too hard. Let me take care of you.”
Solomon exhaled, allowing himself to relax. This was what he loved about Yasmin—she didn’t burden him with problems like the others. She was his escape.
“I appreciate you,” he murmured.
Yasmin smiled. “I know.”
She didn’t push further. Not yet. But she would.
Because if Solomon had another woman in Abuja, Yasmin needed to ensure that woman never made it to Lagos.

The War Intensifies
By the end of the night, all three wives had taken their first steps toward war.
Adanna had a spy tracking Solomon’s movements.
Teni had proof of his betrayal.
Yasmin was securing her position.
And Solomon, oblivious to the storm brewing around him, believed he was still in control.
But soon, he would learn.
In the Adeyemi household, love was just another weapon.
