Chapter Ten: No Mercy The Adeyemi household was no longer just a home—it was a battleground. Halima’s return had triggered a shift, and now every wife had something to lose. The question was: Who would fall first? --- Solomon’s Calculations Solomon wasn’t a fool. He knew his wives were moving against each other—and against him. Sitting in his study, he reviewed the documents his investigator had gathered. Bank statements, secret phone calls, leaked information to the press. Adanna, as always, was covering her tracks well. Teni was playing a long game, waiting for the right moment to strike. And Yasmin… well, she had already been dealt with. But Halima? She was the wildcard. And that made her the most dangerous. He reached for his whiskey, deep in thought. Then his phone buzzed. "Sir," his investigator said. "We have a problem. Someone tried to bribe a hospital staff member to alter Halima’s medical records." Solomon’s grip tightened. "Who?" "Still tracing, but the money leads back to someone inside the house." Solomon exhaled slowly. His home was a nest of vipers. And it was time to start cutting off heads. --- Halima’s Growing Fear Halima knew she was in danger. She had expected resistance, but this? This was a full-blown war. Someone had tried to alter her pregnancy records. A silent move—one that could’ve easily led to a “medical complication” if she wasn’t careful. She placed a hand on her belly, her mind racing. She needed protection. Real protection. And that meant making sure Solomon needed her as much as she needed him. She pulled out her phone and dialed a number. A deep voice answered. "Madam Halima." "I need you to set up a meeting," she said. "With a lawyer." "Property or inheritance?" "Both." She ended the call, her heart pounding. If the other wives wanted her gone, they’d have to work harder. Because she was not going down without a fight. --- Adanna’s Ruthless Move Adanna wasn’t about to let Halima take everything she had built. She sat in her lounge, sipping wine as she read through the new reports from Desmond. Halima was securing legal power. Teni was waiting for the perfect moment to strike. And Solomon? He was starting to suspect them all. Good. She dialed a number. A hushed voice answered. "Yes?" Adanna’s voice was smooth. "I need something delivered to the press. A story." "Which one?" She smiled. "The one about Halima’s past in Abuja. Let’s see how well she fights with the world watching her." The voice hesitated. "That could be dangerous." Adanna swirled her wine. "Then do it carefully." She ended the call, her pulse steady. Halima wanted to play power games? She had just stepped into the deep end. --- Teni’s Leverage Teni didn’t make moves unless they were guaranteed to work. She had spent years observing Solomon, learning his weaknesses, preparing for the moment when she would take her place at the top. And now, that moment was close. She met with her lawyer that evening, sliding a folder across the table. "This is everything," she said. "Financial records. Business transactions. A few… questionable deals." The lawyer whistled. "If this goes public, Solomon is finished." Teni smirked. "Which is why it won’t. Not unless he tries to push me aside." The lawyer nodded. "So, you want leverage, not destruction." "Exactly," Teni said. "Solomon may be powerful, but even he knows the danger of crossing me." She leaned back, satisfied. Let Adanna and Halima fight for his attention. She was securing her freedom. --- The Explosion The next morning, Lagos woke up to breaking news. SHOCKING REVELATIONS ABOUT BILLIONAIRE SOLOMON ADEYEMI’S MYSTERY LOVER – WHAT IS SHE HIDING? Halima’s past was everywhere. News outlets speculated about her connections in Abuja, whispering rumors about how she had “trapped” Solomon with a pregnancy. The mansion was in chaos. Solomon stormed into the main lounge, his fury barely contained. "Who did this?" he demanded. Silence. His gaze swept across his wives. Adanna, calm and composed, sipping her tea. Teni, pretending to be uninterested, scrolling through her phone. Halima, furious and humiliated, gripping her stomach protectively. Solomon’s jaw clenched. "You think this will make me turn against her?" His voice was low, dangerous. "You think I don’t know how you all operate?" He turned to Halima. "Pack your things." Halima froze. "What?" "You’re leaving this house," Solomon said. "For your safety." Halima’s breath caught. He was sending her away. She turned to Adanna, who simply smiled. This was her doing. But Halima wasn’t going anywhere. She lifted her chin, her voice steady. "No." Solomon blinked. "Excuse me?" "You don’t get to decide where I go," Halima said. "Not anymore." For a moment, the room was silent. Then Solomon did something none of them expected. He laughed. A slow, dangerous chuckle. "You all think you’re so smart," he said. "So powerful." He walked over to the bar, poured himself a drink, and turned back to face them. "But let me make one thing clear." He took a slow sip. "This house? This empire? It exists because of me. And none of you will take it from me." He placed his glass down, eyes cold. "You want war?" His voice was almost amused. "Fine. But be ready for the consequences." With that, he turned and walked away, leaving his wives to stare at each other. For the first time, they realized something. They weren’t just fighting each other anymore. They had awakened a monster. ---
