Last call

I can feel Kuura purring like a cat. She wants me to get Nathan somewhere we can be just the two of us and I fight hard not to do that. Luckily the song changes to something unrecognizable and terrible that I woke up from this petting. Jessica comes to take my hand and we go to the bar.

"Giirl, you two need to get a room", she pants. "Even I almost came when I looked at you two, that was hot. There are men on the side who were checking at you their dic*ks hard in their pants", she laughs.

"I don't know what's got in to me", I tell her ashamed. We order two more vodka sodas and Nathan comes to us.

"I think we should leave", he tells us hurriedly.

"Yeah, you guys should", Jessica smiles at him and looks at me.

"As much as I'd love that, but you need to leave also Jessica", he says seriously. Jessica raises her eyebrows and looks at me surprised.

I stare at Nathan, but then I smell it too. There are rogues at the club. Nathan graps my hand and I take Jessica's. Jessica is confused but follows us.

There are one ahead of us

"Where?"

I think he is that one with a grey shirt on

I yank Nathan's hand and he turns around. I nod to grey shirted guys direction and Nathan nods his head. There are way too many people on the club and people are clearly wasted. A man fells on me and I let go of Nathan's hand. The grey shirted man sniffes air and looks straight at me.

"Alina, what is going on in here?", Jessica demands. I try push the man away when I smell smoke. No, no, no! Fire alarms went off and people started to scream and run like headless chickens. I pulled Jessica near me and people were packing up. The man who fell on me got stombed on I could smell blood. I tried to help him up but more and more people were trying to get out. The door frames were not wide enough so people got pushed together. The smell of smoke got stronger and I started to feel panick arising in me.

Breathe! Think!

"How do I get Jessica out of here?"

I don't know. I can help!

"No, not now! We can't change no"

Then what? There is a fire. I think it started from the booths on the right

I turn and see flames. Kuura was right. There were booths in flames on the right. Loud burst came from the left and I saw a rogue throwing booze bottles on the fire. All I could think that they were trying to burn us to the ground. But why here? This a humans' club? There were no werewolves here. Except me and Nathan. And I lost him.

A new smell came to my nose. Vampires. What the hel*l, how I didn't notice them before. Maybe the rogues were after them. The easiest way to kill a vampire is to burn it to the ground. Okay Alina focus. The safest place in a fire is on the ground where is no smoke. But if you get to the ground, people will stomp you to death. I look at Jessica and she looks horrified.

Emergency exit! I try to look a green light on the walls. I notice one on the far right. I start to yank Jessica there. She understands where I was trying to get and tries to push through the mass of people. I start to cough, there is so much smoke already. Somebody hits my nose on his shoulder and I feel my nose breaking. It hurts a lot and my eyes starts watering. I try to blink and get my eyesight back. I lost my focus and Jessica slips off my hand. "JESSICA!", I scream after her. The smoke gets in to my eye and it's hard to breathe. Suddenly someone lifts me up from the crowd and moves me away.

"Are you alright?", Nathan asks.

"Yes, I'm fine, but find Jessica!", I plead him. Nathan disappears to the crowd and I try to get to the emergency door. I feel a hit on my face. A rogue has spotted me and starts to hit me. I blindly try to block his hits, but he gets through my blocks. I hear a menacing growl and blood bursts on my face. Nathan has changed to his wolf and killed the rogue. Jessica wraps her hands around me and we get out. She yells at people to follow us and 10-20 people got out from the exit.

Jeremy is waiting outside. He sees us and runs to us.

"Alina, you are hurt! What the hel*l happened here? I can smell rogues!"

"I'm fine, it's just my nouse. Do you have some spare clothes in you car?", I ask him.

"Yes, but who need those? Where is Nathan?"

I hold my nouse and glance at him. He realizes that Jessica is with us and hears everything. Jessica sits quietly next to me and hungs her head.

"Jessica..", I start.

"No. This is insane. Your boyfriend just turned in to a wolf and killed a man we almost burned to death", she says quietly.

"Jessica I'll explain you later. But now we have to leave", I say to her and get up. My nose is already starting to heal and my vision is back. Nathan comes around corner. He is wearing Jeremy's white t-shrit and college pants. Even though Nathan is tall and muscular, Jeremy's clothes makes him look like a boy trying out his big brother's clothes. He looks cute. He speaks with Jeremy further away and I can see they are angry.

I look at Jessica who still doesn't want to look me in the eyes.

"What ever is on your mind, please remember that I love you and I'd never let anything bad happen to you", I say and try to touch her hand. She pulls her hand away and tries to leave. Fireman come to check on us but I say we are fine. Jessica know the fireman and tells him she has inhaled so much smoke that she needs to get taken to the hospital. Fireman gives her oxygen and takes her to an ambulance. She leaves without goodbyes and I stare after her.

Nathan comes to me and tries to hug me. I push him away and get to the passenger seat on Jeremy's car. Jeremy slowly gets to the driver's seat and apologizes for taking so much room. I just tap on his hand couple of times and stare at the window.

Nathan goes back seat and we leave home.

The drive home was dead silent. Jeremy didn't put any music on and I didn't say anything. I felt exhausted, the smell of smoke was in my nose and I lost Jessica. I just wanted to go home and shower and go to sleep. To hel*l those rogues and vampires and everything. I'm so fed up with everything.

When we arrived to the pack house Jackson and Jones were waiting for us. They both ran to me and asked me if I was alright. I just waved at them and went in. Jones tried to come after me but I told him to go with Jeremy and Nathan. They would explain everything. He pushed some hair off my face and told me he would come to check up on me tomorrow. I wished good night to him and climbed the stairs to my room.

I checked my phone to see if Jessica had messaged, but nothing. I wrote her a message where I said to her that I'll give her time, but I need her in my life and I won't give up on our friendship and I'd explain her everything, when she is ready to hear. I sent it and went to the shower. I washed my hair twice and scrubbed my body. The smell of smoke has inprinted to my nose so badly that it would take time it would vanish completely. I threw my dress and shoes away. After shower I checked my face. There wasn't any signs of damage anymore. Good thing we heal fast.

I looked at my phone. Nothing. I lied naked in my bed and stared at the ceiling. I wanted to sleep but couldn't, I was too stressed out.

I heard my room's door open and close, someone came in.

"Get out", I said.
