In the spirit world, the souls were classified as such: ghost, mutated, and demon/saint. They were furthermore separated with their levels from level one to level ten. When the mortals are still living, they each have their own unique "spirit seeds" that help nourish and strengthen their souls and in some cases, it even causes them to have unique abilities or help strengthen their bodies. When a mortal dies, their souls go to the spirit world. And this souls' strengths differ from each other as per the strengths of their seeds.
When a mortal dies, his or her soul seed dissipates into a purer type of spiritual essence and that essence starts to coagulate outside the body and starts to form their soul with a corresponding strength to which their spirit seed's potential.
Normally when a soul forms from a dead mortal, the level of their souls are almost all level one. Those level ones are then evaluated by "soul guides" if they would be deemed worthy for a chance to rebirth. But in some cases where the souls formed from death starts at level two or higher, they are evaluated instead by "managers" for eligibility to be designated as soul guides. These "managers" are those souls who were able to strengthen their own souls enough to evolve it past level ten and make their souls mutate hence the label "mutated".
Spiritual energy is everywhere. Even in the mortal world, it is very abundant. It is what the souls need to evolve to a higher level. Some cases, in places where there is an abundance of spiritual energy, spiritual energy naturally forms by itself and is very beneficial to souls for evolving to higher levels or used to perform higher levels of power. The spiritual seeds are one of the types of concentrated form of spiritual energy.

Ana's forehead started to sweat while her heart was pounding as she saw what was happening to the gourd. It was shaking heavily while a pulsing light was being emitted through it's whole body. This gourd was supposed to be able to contain any level one type ghosts, even those that have just evolved to level two, so she felt it incredulous for a soul that had escaped from the spirit world only three months ago to be able to evolve to level two. So it was very nerve wracking for Ana to see the "containment gourd" to have any indication of failing.
"It.. can't be" Ana said in a low tone that only she could hear as she saw the talisman for sealing level ones start to heat up and eventually burned to ashes and the gourd itself cracking as it eventually exploded as the cork shoots up from the it.
"Ahahaha!" An eerie laugh sounded as Eddie's soul starts to reform by itself on the top of where the gourd used to be. "You can't suppress the mighty Eddie!"
"How could you evolve past level two?!" Ana asked to herself out loud dumbfoundedly as she saw Eddie escaping from the "containment gourd" she used.
"Level two?" Eddie asked when he heard her question. He didn't know anything about any level two stuff. Is it the strong power he felt when he was absorbing orbs? Maybe that's why he was able to start getting those powers lately. "So does that mean I'm powerful?" He thought to himself as he tried releasing his own pressure towards Ana while laughing maniacally.
Ana was shocked to feel the powerful pressure coming towards her. Though it was not as powerful as her own, it was almost able to rival hers. She had to release her own just to withstand it.
"You may have already reached level two, but you're not yet able to stabilize your energy! You are still not my match!" She shouted she released her full force as a more powerful pressure erupted outwards and the air around was forcefully blown away from her like an "air barrier" erupting out from her body.

Jon has been trying to catch his breath all this time. He was kneeling with both his hands on the floor. His whole body was a little numb and he couldn't hear properly for a while. He felt like a bomb exploded right in front of him and caused his hearing to be impaired for a while. He felt disoriented.
He could hear a lot of muffled arguing then there was a bright flash to his right side. He tried to turn his head as he saw a gourd floating down slowly on the floor, smoking. He heard a muffled sound that seems to be directed to him that came from the "psychiatrist" as he saw the paper on the gourd burns to ash and it exploded with a bright flash.
He then heard a muffled laughter kind of sound as a ghost seemingly forms from the top of where the gourd used to be. And another series of muffled conversation was heard as he felt a squeezing sensation but different from the one he felt from his condition.
"You.. two.. energy!.. still not my match!" As he felt the squeezing sensation, his muffled hearing was returning to normal. But then suddenly, he was blown away by the air and was slammed to the wall on the left side of the office and a more powerful pressure was felt.
He watched the "psychiatrist" with her back towards him looking at a ghost as it was laughing maniacally. Suddenly, the "psychiatrist" jumped towards the ghost as she raised her left hand in a palm covered in purple light. The ghost panicked as it used it's own right hand to swat her incoming hand but as it touched the "psychiatrist's" glowing hand, it's whole body shot away towards the other side of the wall and the whole office quaked heavily. He saw the ghost puked smoke as the black and white office cracked like he was inside a broken mirror.
Angered, Eddie shot back towards the "psychiatrist" as he concentrated all his energy to his fist and aimed it at her as it light up with a green hue. She was shocked as she saw the incoming fist and felt that she can't deal with this fist by herself based on her currently almost used up energy. Her eyes lit up as she suddenly shouted with her voice sounding with a tinge of adoration: "Nugget!"
Suddenly from the golden dragon hairpin at the back of her head sounded a dragon's roar as it released a blinding golden light. It only lasted a second as the hairpin disappeared from her hair and a golden little dragon the size of a foot materialized out of nowhere and shot toward Eddie's fist as it roared a second time.
"What the heck is that?!" Eddie screamed in his mind and his eyes widened with disbelief as he saw his fist collide with the little dragon and a burst of golden green light erupted in the middle. In the next moment, Eddie's scream was heard as shot out from the light and slammed on the same place in the same wall with the same posture. "That's cheating! No help!" He puked smoke again as he shouted towards the "psychiatrist".
The little dragon then returned to her side and floated there like a little guardian as she pet its head. "This little guy is a part of my strength. Just give up and surrender. Return to the spirit world with me!"
"Hmph.. I may not be your match hot legs, but you can't stop me if I want to go!" The ghost shouted as he suddenly turned around and punched the wall. As more cracks appeared in the office, some of the black and white mirror like parts fell off. He then heard the sound of glass shattering as he saw the broken cracks of the black and white office disintegrated and everything returned to normal.
"Hahaha!" The ghost laughed mockingly as it rapidly faded out.
"Tsk! I can't believe this. Big brother's gonna be pissed." The "psychiatrist" stomped her right foot like an irritated child as she failed to catch up to the ghost and complained to herself out loud. She let her spiking energy recede back into her body as she pondered on what she should do next. The little golden dragon perched on her right shoulder and rubbed it head on her face as it purred like a little cat.
"I'm okay Nugget. Thanks for your help earlier." She ran her hands to the little guy's body as and said like she was speaking on a pet. The dragon then replied with a tiny sounding, amiable roar towards her.
"Cough.. Cough.." Jon coughed out some air as the heavy pressure was released from the area. Ana was jolted back from her thinking as she heard a coughing fit at her back. She turned around and realized as she saw Jon coughing that she totally forgot about the mortal host of Eddie.
"Who.. What.. are you?.." Jon managed to speak between his coughing as he looked at the "psychiatrist" walking towards him.
"I'm sorry. It's all my fault you were dragged into this." Ana said as she kneeled to look Jon in the eyes while she took of her glasses. "Don't worry, I'll make it right, I promise." She smiled warmly as she added then reached out with her right hand to his forehead as her eyes and hand lit up. She concentrated her energy on her hand as she tried to penetrate his consciousness and erase his memory.
But as her spiritual energy almost touched his consciousness, a mighty force suddenly rebounded her energy violently and a hand gripped her wrist and removed her hand from Jon's forehead. "What are you doing?" Jon ask a little shaken on what she was trying to do.
He felt that after she held his forehead, a warm current came towards his mind attempting to consume his consciousness. He hurriedly held her wrist and took her hand away from him.
Ana was speechless for a time on what happened to her energy. Wasn't mortals supposed to be susceptible to spiritual energy as they won't be able to evolve their souls to level one until after their death?
"This is strange." She said as if talking to herself.
"Explain." Jon suddenly said as he was a little annoyed from being ignored.
"Hm?!" Ana let out a little surprised sound as she saw a little bluish glint appeared in his eyes and disappeared again as if it never happened.
"Come with me." After a little hesitation, She suddenly got up and walked towards the door.
Jon pondered a bit while he looked at her walking towards the door then he got up and followed her.
