We walked in silence for a minute or so. However, it was not uncomfortable in the slightest. Each of us seemed to be taking in the picturesque surroundings, breathing in the fresh air and gathering our thoughts. It seemed almost peaceful.
When we reached the lake, both of us stopped and took in the stunning sight of the sunbeams skimming the water. There were two swans swimming gracefully on top of it. The water barely rippled around them as they moved. They were so pretty to look at, with their long necks, brilliant white plumage and bright orange and black bills.
