As we drove back in silence to the meeting point for us to be driven home to the city. A heavy feeling of sadness and loss was hanging between us. After our initial minor disagreement, things had taken an extraordinary turn for the better. Each of us declaring our love and promising to never stop loving each other till the day we die.
However, it was still a bittersweet moment for us. Why had fate been so cruel as to allow us to find each other, only to tear us apart again. When you find your true love, you should not have to watch them marry another, it should be you they spend the rest of their life with. It was the hand we were dealt though, so we had to move on with our lives and forget the other as best we could. Otherwise, we would be miserable for the rest of our dying days.
