"Well, if you'll just tell me what you need......."
" What I need," He repeated casually, and she wondered if he was intentionally trying to irk her.
" Are you new around here?" She asked before she could stop herself. "Why?" He asked lazily, tilting his head slightly. He looked like he was someone who had been sleeping for decades, and was still struggling to wake up.
It's just that I've never seen you around before, so I asked out of curiosity," she said quickly, then she gave him a Sharp, wary look.
You are yet to tell me what you need,"
"It depends. On what you're offering,"
She didn't know why she was unnerved by his words, but she was.
" As you can see, this...." she looked around her to be sure that she was still in the DM saloon and had not vanished to some unknown planet. " is a fashion house. Although we don't really offer male customer service unless you just want to fix your old clothes, but I doubt you'd want to do that,"
Although, she was not very familiar with male fashion brands, she could tell that the clothes this man was putting on was terribly expensive. He was no ordinary man. She had seen alot of wealthy and powerful people in her life but this man was not quite the same as those people. He had such an aura that even Kenai Vesper didn't possess.
She would be a fool if she pretended not to know that he had not walked in here to talk about clothes. A part of her knew subconsciously that he had come for her, but she refused to believe it.
" You're right. I am new here. And I have not come to fix my clothes," He said, and she looked up at him sharply.
" Then are you looking for Ms Marcy?” She wondered if he was one of Marcy's creditors. Marcy had taken out alot of loans. Maybe this man had come because Marcy owed him.
However, deep down, she knew that that could not be the case.
Deep down, She knew that this man wasn't just anyone. He probably didn't belong in Marcy's world, not to mention hers.
" I'm not sure who that is," he murmured, "But actually, I've come to see you,"
"Huh?" Sayisha's brows rose in surprise. Her instincts told her to turn around and run, but she remained motionless for a reason she didn't know " But you don't even know me, and I don't know you......."
" Yet, I've come to see you anyway,"
"You must be mistaken" she said in a panic stricken tone as she shuddered.
This man was obviously from the class of the powerful. If he had indeed come for her, then it could only mean one thing - that the Quinns had sent him after her. Her knuckles turned quite white when she thought about Barbara's awful torments which grew worse each time.
None of the Quinns had bothered to look for her when Barbara had forced her out of the house. She didn't know what Barbara must have told them in her absence- not that she even needed to fabricate a story- as far as the Quinns were concerned, in their eyes whatever Barbara did was always the right thing.
There was no reason for them to seek her out now other than Barbara missing the chance to torment her, after all in their eyes, she had not suffered nearly enough. They even boasted about letting her live in Luxury, with the status of a noble woman. The only thing they hadn't done was make her an heiress.
However, when Sayisha thought deeply about it, she realized that it didn't make sense that the Quinns would come after her now. This was the Month of Baigra. It was Barbara's only lucky Month of the year according to the House of Fates. The Quinns wouldn't be wasting their time looking for her now. They would be preparing Barbara- the heiress of the Quinn family for the yearly visit to the Royal Castle of V country. If Barbara's Fortune was good enough, she could snag a prince for a husband, or a Duke.
These days, marrying a Duke was as good as marrying a prince. The Quinns who had been a greedy bunch since the days of their ancestors would be very pleased if Barbara was able to achieve such a union.
Even possibly, She could marry the Crowned prince. How fortunate would that be! Although Sayisha was not sure whether he was unmarried or not, she did know that half the girls in the country wanted to end up with him.
" I'm not someone who can make mistakes," that unusual voice she had forgotten existed filtered into her ears, bringing her back to the moment.
"I take risks but I never make mistakes,"
" Then, could you tell me what you want with me?" She demanded impatiently. For the first time, she wished Marcy would show up. She would have appreciated the presence of another human being no matter who it was, as long as she did not have to be alone with this man, struggling to conduct a sensible conversation.
" Not yet," He said slyly, " First you must help me," Sayisha was aghast. "What? Help you? Me?" She almost laughed out loud.
It was the first time someone- anyone- had said such a thing to her-- Help me.
"You must ask someone else. I don't think I can help you in any way," she said firmly.
"But you haven't heard My request yet. Hear me out and decide afterwards,”
He said in a tone she had to concede was reasonable.
Well, it wouldn't hurt to hear him out. When he realized that he had come to the wrong person, he would leave on his own. Good for her.
" Alright, I guess I should hear you out first," she said with a curt nod.
" So, how may I help you?"
The man rose from the chair and began to approach her. She opened her mouth and closed it again, telling herself not to over think.
"It's been a long time since I've been out," he said in a a soft murmur.
Although he was maintaining a safe distance, she still felt as though his words were caressing her skin softly She gulped, " You must have recently returned to the country. No wonder you looked unfamiliar," she managed to say, and he did not correct her assumption if she was wrong.
" Does your family live around? Do you need directions or something?"; He shook his head slowly.
"No. I need a companion," he said seriously, "And I chose you,"
