Sixth period and afternoon homerooms are cancelled this Friday so we may all attend the St. Sebastian Christmas Movie. The Miracle of Marcelino is a Spanish religious film of great beauty. This is the sad, yet joyous and deeply inspirational story of Marcelino, an orphan who was abandoned on the steps of a monastery and raised by monks in a humble and chaste environment. As a wild and unruly young boy he ventures into the monastery attic and sees the statue of Our Lord Jesus Christ suffering on the cross. The boy steals food and wine and when he feeds the statue, it comes to life and grants him his wish. The film does not have a happy ending in the usual sense. Please do not look for one.
