Ch 5. Soul Mate

"However, Im not human" Dravens voice echoed in her head, over and over. The words im not human flashed behind her eyelids. "oh!" Gasping, Blaire woke up. It took her a few moments to realize where she was. A bed. Rubbing her head, she looked around. Spotting Draven sitting in a chair, not to far from her. "W-what happened?" Blaire asked him, feeling almost dazed. "You fainted two days ago when i told you what i was" Draven responded. Blaire's eyes went wide. two days? she was out for two days?. Deep down Blaire didn't think that was even possible. Thinking back however, she hasn't slept much in the last month. Always running, she never stayed in one place longer then a day. Which gave her a couple hours of sleep a night. "Wow...." She breathed "i didn't think i could sleep that long" Draven looked at her and shrugged. "When the body's tired and needs to reboot, it will do miraculous things" He got up off the chair and walked over to the bed. Noticing that she was watching his every move, he took it slow as he sat down on the foot of the bed. Feeling her concern, Draven held his hand out to her. "I wont hurt you Blaire." Blaire watched him, yes she was scared but at the same time she trusted him. Why? she did not know. Nodding slightly she took his offered hand and let him pull her to her feet. Standing up with him. His touch was warm, something she wasn't expecting for a demon. Standing up, she looked up at him. Before he knew what he was doing, his hand reached up and stroked the side of her cheek. Electricity ran through him. Draven needed to gain control again before he took it to far. Clearing his throat he dropped his hand. Claim her....shes yours. His demon was itching at him, trying to surface. He knew something that Draven did not.Closing his eyes, he pushed his demon back down. last thing he wanted to do was scare her. A loud crash brought both of them back to reality, reminding them that there was still a major storm happening. The two of them made eye contact once more before going back down stairs. Boom! The lights went out. Draven sighed, his generator just blew and he knew he couldn't fix it. He shook his head and walked over to the fire place, tending to the flames. There was something else contributing to the storm, he could feel it in his gut. only problem was, he couldn't put his finger on it. Storms don't usually last this long, and if they do, the power certainly doesn't stay off longer then a day. Not in this part of town. "Are you sure were safe here Draven? this storm doesn't seem to want to ease up" Blaire sat on the couch hugging her knees. Her dark raven hair was now back in a neat side braid. The storm was worrying her, only because it seemed to grow in strength. "We should be fine, it if gets any worse I do have a storm cellar beneath the house" Looking back in her direction, Draven gave her a small smile. "Don't worry". He continued to poke the fire until he was satisfied that it would stay going through out the night. Draven walked over to the sectional and sat down close to her. Blaires curiosity got the best of her. "Draven?" She asked. "What's that book about? The one you reading?" She re-positioned herself so she was sitting cross legged, facing him. When she had woken up, he seemed to have been caught reading it. Only naturally she had to ask. Draven blinked when he asked her about the book. No one had really paid attention long enough to ever notice. "Well...." quite frankly, he wasn't to sure where to start. "The book is called Ancient Demonic Scriptures, it explains how my kind first came upon the human race and why we did so. The book also explains blood lines, royalty and......soul mates" Draven continued to explain what soul mates were, but also explained to her what soul mates meant to his kind.  One soul for every male, one soul to keep them sane and alive. He then explained the mark. Every soul mate carried an identical mark to their mate. "And may i ask....what your mark is"? Blaire was curious, he hadn't said that it was a private matter, but she knew if it was he wouldn't tell her. Draven pondered for a moment before telling her. "Usually i wouldn't share what my mark is, due to its meaning. I wont share the location however." However, he did think it would be easier to show then to explain. "My mark resembles a tribal wolf's head tattoo" He paused. "Its about the size of a computer mouse" Blaire blinked at him, could it be?. Her heart started to flutter in her chest, she was lost for words. Did this mean she was condemned? Her mind started to wander and it must have shown on her face because his attention was on her. "Blaire? are you alright?" Draven asked, his eyes never leaving her face. Nodding, she got up off the couch. She was nervous as f**k. "Does it look like this?..." Standing in front of him, she pulled her t-shirt off, leaving her in just her black tank top. Blaire wasn't waiting for him to reply, she lifted her tank just above her belly button. On the side of her hip, plain as day. Was his mark. Draven was just as surprised as she was. He nodded. "Yes"
