Chapter Eleven: MateoHer healing occurs in multiple stages.
The fist few days after she returns from the hospital, she doesn't sleep at all. She tries to pretend everything's normal and insists on going to classes, but the bags under her eyes grow darker and she begins to lose even more weight.
She has always been slight to begin with and the insomnia and anorexia worries him. He gets her a therapist. Multiple therapists, but she insists she's fine. She just can't sleep and the lack of rest lowers her already small appetite.
The first night she wakes, gasping and sobbing, he tried to enter the room to calm her, but the sight of him only sent her into a panic attack. He lets Mateo handle her after that.
