Chapter One: Waking PainsAllie blinks awake to the sting of something hitting her cheek. She yelps and scrambles away immediately on pure instinct.
"Wha- Where?" she stutters, looking around her and recognizing her bedroom. She sees the baby blues of her sheets and the white ceiling and knows she's home, but there's a man standing at the edge of the bed who shouldn't be there. She snaps completely awake at the sight and opens her mouth to scream, only to have his hand slap across her face yet again.
"Now, now," a stern voice rumbles. "None of that. Come here, baby girl."
