"Mine," a deep voice growls, and then everything fades to black.

Stepping out of my room, I immediately notice the commotion downstairs. Brett is holding Alpha Allan back as he tries to force his way into the pack clinic.
I hurry down the stairs, stopping beside Lilac. "What’s going on?" I ask her.
Lilac meets my gaze with a sorrowful smile. "Alpha Allan found his mate, but she’s in critical condition."
