~Lyra~ Morning light spilled across the room, bathing everything in a soft, golden glow. I slipped from the bed, skin still tingling, and moved to the mirror. Red marks bloomed along my neck and down the curve of my back—evidence of Kael’s hunger. My breath caught, shallow and uneven, as flashes from the night before rose, unbidden, and set my cheeks ablaze. Behind me, the bed creaked.
