~Lyra~ A tingling sensation crept up the back of my neck. I stirred, still heavy with sleep, only to find Kael leaning over me—his golden eyes tracking every inch of my face before he dipped low and pressed a kiss to the curve of my neck… then another. I blinked at him. Kael chuckled softly, probably amused by whatever expression I was making. Then he bit my lower lip—just enough to make me inhale, “Look who finally decided to wake up, sleepy.” I gave him a faint smile. “Your fever… is it gone?” “It’s gone,” he said, brushing my hair behind my ear. “I’m fine now.” The fire had burned itself out sometime during the night, leaving only charred remains. A curtain had been draped across the shop’s entrance, letting in strips of muted light. I pushed myself up on the mat. “Is it morning?”
