~Lyra~ After dinner, Kael took a call and disappeared into his study. I stayed in bed, stretched out with a book, enjoying the quiet. Then I heard a buzz. Kael’s phone was left on the nightstand. Apparently, he’d taken the call and tossed it aside—forgotten it entirely. I ignored it at first and kept reading… until the buzz came again. Then again. And again.
