~Lyra~ A light rain had been falling since morning, casting a soft, silvery mist over the skies above the Manor. After lunch, I stepped outside alone and stopped by the front steps to feed the two lazy rabbits I’d found recently. They were spoiled beyond repair—barely bothering to nibble, their eyes already drooping like they were about to fall asleep mid-chew. The sight made me smile… until the sudden screech of tires shattered the quiet. Before I could even turn, I was caught in a pair of strong, familiar arms. Kael. Rain clung to his shoulders. He smelled like storm wind and distance. I wrapped my arms around his neck, breath catching. “Didn’t you say you wouldn’t be back until tonight? Why so early?” His brow arched, the corner of his mouth tilting. “Couldn’t wait to see you.”
