I tapped the space beside me and found it empty. Julian was not there. Where had he gone to? And why had he not told me that he was leaving? He had gone back to his habit of hiding things from me and I did not like it. We had talked about this extensively, well among other things. I thought we had been progressing well. It was not that I did not trust him, it was, I just needed him to tell me the truth and not hide things from me. I had walked in the shadow of Asher's lies and this triggered me badly.
