Chapter 16

Suddenly Shilpa suffered from severe head ache in the temple.She felt that her head was spinning.

Shilpa screamed out of pain,

“Bhavesh..”

Suddenly she fainted,but Bhavesh held her hand and stopped her from falling down.

Bhavesh was really tensed about her condition.

“Shilpa..open your eyes.Shilpa...”

She did not respond leading Bhavesh to extreme feeling of mental pain in a moment.

Bhavesh was aware of Shilpa’s health problems.He was mentally prepared to face the consequences of her disease.But he never expected her to faint and scare him like this.He feared that Shilpa may even lose her own life in the midst of all this.This was something which he could not even imagine.He did not think for a second to take her to the hospital.

Shilpa got admitted in the hospital.The doctors attended her.

Some hours passed.

Shilpa was in deep slumber.

Keshav,Avantika,Gopika,Aryan,Raj and Rakhi were there near her.They were worried about her and were really anxious about her condition.

Slowly Shilpa opened her eyes.

All of them smiled peacefully seeing her conscious.

Avantika caressed her emotionally.

“Shilpa..are you alright?”

Slowly Shilpa replied,

“Yes Maa(Mother)”.

Keshav felt that it was the right time for him to call Bhavesh inside as he was really eating pain every moment since Shilpa got sick and got admitted in the hospital.Keshav knew that Bhavesh would get peace of mind seeing Shilpa conscious after a long time.He was sure that even Shilpa would be happy only if she sees Bhavesh now.

Keshav said,

“I will call Bhavesh here”.

Suddenly Shilpa asked with a confusing expression on her face.

“Bhavesh?How can you call Bhavesh?”

Raj did not understand what Shilpa meant.He did not understand why Shilpa thought that Bhavesh could not be called here.

Raj asked her,

“Why can’t Bhavesh be called here?”

Shilpa said,

“I don't have any contact with Bhavesh after our school days got over.Then how will you call him?It will be very difficult to trace him”.

They were shocked .Shilpa was talking as if she had not met him Bhavesh after their school life ended.

They were broken realizing that as the Doctor predicted earlier Shilpa has forgotten a phase of her life.

Bhavesh who was standing near the door got shocked hearing this.

He was shattered completely.His biggest fear has come true.He was scared whether his Shilpa would forget him.He never wanted that to happen even in the wildest dreams.But that has happened.The reality struck him.It was not his nightmare,but his worst reality.

“This means that Shilpa forgot meeting me again and falling in love with me”.

Bhavesh burst into tears.

Aryan kept his hand on Bhavesh's shoulder.

Bhavesh hugged him and cried.

“I lost my Shilpa”

Aryan could not bear Bhavesh’s pain.

He tried to console Bhavesh.

“No Bhavesh..don't say like that.You may get your Shilpa back”.

Bhavesh looked at Aryan painfully.

“I may get back Shilpa…?That means being a doctor you yourself is not sure whether Shilpa will remember me or not”.

Aryan kept silent as he lacked the courage to admit that he was not sure whether Shilpa’s condition would be improved in future or not.He could only witness Bhavesh burning into ashes helplessly.

They went to meet Dr. Inder.

Doctor Inder explained Shilpa’s condition honestly.

“Shilpa has forgotten a phase of her life.She remembers Bhavesh as her childhood love.But she does’nt remember meeting Bhavesh again and getting engaged to him.She is still waiting to meet Bhavesh”.

Bhavesh said with heart break,

“But she forgot me..I mean she forgot the adult Bhavesh”.

Inder took this in a positive sense and told him,

“In a way it’s a relief that she has not forgotten you,but only your role in the latter phase of her life.Be happy that Shilpa has not forgotten you completely Bhavesh ”.

Bhavesh kept silent as he did not know whether to be happy that Shilpa has not forgotten him completely or whether to be sad that Shilpa has forgotten their love life completely.

Avantika asked him,

“ Can’t we just tell Shilpa that she is engaged to Bhavesh?”

Inder said immediately,

“Don’t do that.It can harm her health.It’s a strain for her brain to recall the forgotten days”.

Bhavesh got tensed whether this marked the end of his love story with Shilpa.

Bhavesh asked Dr.Inder with tension,

“Does it mean that Shilpa and I are separated forever?”

Inder replied giving him hope.

“No Bhavesh.Nothing like that.You have to recreate your love story.Meet her again and make her believe that she is meeting you again after the end of the school life.But before that we need to make Shilpa’s treatment stronger.Otherwise Shilpa will have the worst memory loss.We should not let that happen.And Shilpa should’nt know about her disease.Make her believe that the tablets she is taking are vitamin tablets”.

Bhavesh was relieved as Dr.Inder’s words gave him a hope that his love story with Shilpa could be remade again.

Keshav said,

“Ok.We will do as you say”.

Inder continued,

“So after a year or so Bhavesh can come back to Shilpa’s life again.Till then it’s better to be away from Shilpa”.

Bhavesh said emotionally,

“I can do anything for my Shilpa”.

Aryan patted him and said,

“Everything will be alright”.

Gopika said,

“Have faith in God.Your love will win”.

Bhavesh nodded his head as he was determined to win his love back.

One year passed.

Since Bhavesh was away from Shilpa for a year, Avantika started doubting if Bhavesh cares for Shilpa now.But Bhavesh met Shilpa at the reunion party.With the help of Sankalp ,Sonia,Aryan and Gopika, Bhavesh made Shilpa believe that he is suffering from a terrible love failure after the death of Gautami who was never Bhavesh’s love.This was to bring Shilpa closer to Bhavesh.But when Avantika heard about Gautami and Bhavesh’s relationship from Shilpa she doubted Bhavesh’s love for Shilpa.She even doubted whether Bhavesh actually loves a woman named Gautami.

Avantika asked her family members,

“Does Bhavesh love Gautami?”

Keshav also got worried hearing this.

“How can he love someone else?”

Raj was also confused about the whole matter.

“I can’t understand anything”.

Rakhi said surprising everyone,

“But I know everything.I know why Bhavesh loved Gautami and why and how she died.

All were looking at Rakhi eagerly”.

Rakhi explained,

“Sonia had rung me up.She and Sankalp created a fake love story of Bhavesh and Gautami to make Shilpa sympathetic towards Bhavesh and make Shilpa spend more time with Bhavesh to make their relationship stronger.It is to unite Bhavesh and Shilpa in the most beautiful way.So don’t worry”.

They were in shock knowing about the cooked up story of Bhavesh and Gautami inorder to bring Bhavesh and Shilpa closer.

Present....

Bhavesh was sitting in his room shedding tears.

Suddenly he saw Shilpa there.He could not believe his eyes.He could not believe that his Shilpa had come to meet him after feeling betrayed by him.He could not express his happiness.

He smiled.

“Shilpa...”

Suddenly he became dull.He felt that his eyes were cheating him.

He said to himself,

“No..it can't be Shilpa.She hates me.She won’t come to see me”.

But Shilpa herself confirmed that she was really standing before him.

“It's me only Bhavesh.It's not your illusion”.

Bhavesh was surprised.

“Shilpa..you came back to me?”

Shilpa nodded emotionally.

Bhavesh did not know how to express his happiness.

Shilpa said,

“When I thought about it I felt that I can be wrong in judging you.I don't think that my Bhavesh can cheat me.You may be wrong.But I am sure that your intention is not wrong”.

Bhavesh smiled emotionally.This was enough for him now.He was happy that his Shilpa finally believed that he could never betray her.

He held her closer looking at her deeply.

Shilpa said,

“But still ..the fact is that you lied to me and it is making me restless.I can be happy in this relationship only if I come to know why you lied to me”.

Bhavesh became dull as it was not possible for him to reveal the truth at this point of time and it can only hurt Shilpa as she herself revealed that she can be happy with him only after he reveals to him the reason behind his lie.

He took his hands off her.

Shilpa said,

“I will still wait for your answer Bhavesh.That will decide the fate of our relationship”.

Bhavesh was upset thinking about the fate of their relationship which will be decided by Shilpa.

Aryan, Gopika, Sankalp and Sonia came.They became emotional seeing her.

Gopika called her,

“Shilpa...”

Seeing them she felt guilty as she gave pain to all of them for supporting Bhavesh’s lie..

So without thinking anything immediately she apologized,

“I over reacted.Without thinking that you all can't do anything with a bad intention I blamed all of you.Please forgive me”.

They became upset.

Aryan said,

“No need to say sorry Shilpa.You are right on your part.But we are right on our part.If we have done something which disappointed you, it was only for the well being of you and Bhavesh”.

Gopika said,

“Yes Shilpa.We want the best for both of you”.

Sankalp said,

“We want both of you to be happy”.

Sonia said,

“We want your best”.

Shilpa smiled tearfully as their words touched her heart.But still she was not able to forget the wound caused by them by lying to her.Because it broke her blind trust in them.She knew that her wounds will be healed only if they confessed to her everything which they hid from her.

Shilpa said painfully,

“I know that you all wish for our best.But I will still wait for you all to disclose the truth for my peace of mind”.

Shilpa walked off their house leaving them upset.

Sonia said,

“It's a relief that Shilpa understood that we are not wrong and we are not cheating her”.

Sankalp agreed with her,

“Yes.But Shilpa is still waiting to know the truth”.

All were dull.

Gopika said,

“God will show us a way to solve this”.

Bhavesh was lost in his thoughts about Shilpa.

Shilpa was crossing the road thinking of the present problems.

She could not understand where things were leading to.On one side she was broken that the people she trusted broke her trust and on the other side she was feeling guilty of doubting her own dearest ones.She realized that unknowingly her life was taking different turns and making it complicated.

Suddenly a car came.Shilpa who was lost in her own world did not notice it and so by mistake the car hit her.She fell down terribly and got severely injured.

Shilpa got admitted in the hospital owned by Aryan and Gopika.

Aryan and Gopika started her operation.

All the family members were present there.All were drenched in the pool of tears.

Bhavesh’s heart was pierced ad he felt that his heart was bleeding causing him a lot of pain.

He could not understand why fate was so cruel to him.First he lost Shilpa because of her memory loss.When he hoped to get her back she met with a serious accident.

He was scared whether he was going to lose her forever.

Bhavesh cried out loudly.

“When I thought that I got my Shilpa back again she is going away from me?”

Keshav was already worried about Shilpa’s condition and Bhavesh’s words about losing Shilpa forever put him in frustration.He lost his temper because of that.

Keshav blasted at him in frustration,

“Stop it.Shilpa won't go anywhere.She will be with us always.Did you get it?”

Bhavesh shed tears silently.He could understand what Keshav was going through and he was trying to mke himself believe that Shilpa would be fine.

Aryan and Gopika came out of the operation theatre.

Avantika asked them fearfully,

“How is my Shilpa?”

Aryan’s reply gave them hope.

“We did our level best.The bleeding has been stopped”.

All were relieved.But the words uttered by Gopika snatched their momentary happiness.

Gopika informed them with a lot of pain.

“But Shilpa's brain is severely injured.An immediate surgery is needed.Otherwise she will be paralysed or will go to coma”.

All the hearts were scattered into pieces.

Avantika cried in a screaming manner,

“Nooooo”.

Raj wept bitterly.

“My little sister can't go to coma.She should roam around like a cute little quirrel.She cannot slip into coma.No..I won't let it happen”.

Rakhi cried.

“Raj...Shilpa will walk around ...she will even fly like a butterfly”.

Keshav begged like a beggar.

“Do something please.Please make the surgery fast”.

Raj requested them tearfully,

“Please Aryan bhaiyya(Brother)..”

Rakhi requested them with tears in her eyes,

“Please give our Shilpa back”.

In the midst of all this,the only person who did not react was Bhavesh.

Bhavesh was numb.

Aryan said,

“Everything is in God's hands.We can pray.Only the experts can do this serious surgery.And we have requested the best doctors to do the surgery”.

Gopika said,

“They will arrive soon to do the surgery”.

Keshav asked them eagerly,

“Who are they?”
