GABRIELLE POV
Gabrielle was in the middle of organizing her closet when an unsettling feeling crept over her. The knock on the door was brisk, and Carlos’s face was tight with concern.
“Something happened to him, didn't it?” Gabbie asked.
“Mr. Maurizio is waiting for you downstairs,” Carlos said, his voice grave as he closed the door behind him.
Gabrielle’s pulse quickened, and a wave of nausea hit her. She slipped on her slippers and hurried downstairs.
In the living room, Letizia was seated on the couch, her face streaked with tears. Jianna stood beside her, looking tense.
“What happened?” Gabbie asked, her voice trembling as she rushed to Maurizio and hugged him.
“It’s about the helicopter crash, Leo was on it,” Maurizio said, his voice heavy with sadness.
“Did he… did he die?”
