Leo’s mind was a tumultuous sea, bracing for Gabrielle’s reaction as they entered the restaurant and settled at a table. The waiter arrived with a bottle of wine, and Leo, trying to maintain normalcy, made the usual request in Italian.
“Per favore, porta lo stesso di semper, grazie.” (Please bring the same as always, thank you.) Leo said, receiving a nod from the waiter.
Gabrielle remained silent, absorbed in her phone, and the tension weighed heavily on Leo. Taking a sip of his wine, he gathered his courage to breach the silence.
“Are you sure everything’s okay?” Leo ventured cautiously.
“I'm asking you, Leo. One night you're crazy about me and after that, you let me alone in bed,” Gabbie rose slightly, her frustration palpable.
