Gabrielle felt an overwhelming sense of relief when Leo finally walked through the door, disregarding the blood stains on his clothes as she rushed into his arms, embracing him tightly. She didn’t want to let go. She wanted to remain in his comforting embrace forever.
“Did they hurt you?” Leo asked softly, holding her close crying, blood stains forgotten.
“Did they do something bad?” Leo asked again, and she shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Salvatore slapped me,” Gabbie replied, her voice trembling as he hugged her tightly.
“Don't worry, he's gone now,” Leo reassured her, and she didn't let go of his neck.
“I've never been so relieved to see you, Leo,” Gabbie murmured, a hint of laughter through her tears.
“Always finding humor in everything,” Leo smil
