PEAK A BOO!!!!

1002 Words
"You like Sky?", I yelled. "Why do you have to take everyone I care about away? Imagine if I was actually dating Robert. How would you feel about that, huh?" He laughed. "First of all, terrible example. Second of all, relax! I was just pulling your leg. What are twins for? Take a chill pill, sis." "Still not funny", I retorted. "Did you help me iron my uniform before the power went out? I'll just have to make the best of that.", I asked him. "Yeah, yeah. And,", he paused. "And what?", I asked. "You don't have to try too hard. You're a beautiful sixteen year old. If Jason doesn't notice you, that's honestly his loss. So just be you. Now, I'm joining Robert to school. Good luck with the bus!", he said, storming out while picking up a piece of toast that mum had left before going to Right! I knew something was missing. I haven't done an introduction or take a little peak a boo into my past. As you know, my name is Dianne and I'll be your favourite main character by the way! You could call me a clumsy character or a sixteen year old. When I was younger, my dad used to call me Princess Dianne. He'd get me crowns, princess dresses and even play dress up with me. Theo, on the other hand was mum's favourite. He was this perfect cute son with stellar grades. He was kind, popular, muscular, handsome..okay, ewww, that's my brother I'm actually talking about. Life was good, literally. We lived in one of the biggest houses on Rose Street, Ireland. We had big cars to take us to school and our wealth attracted many people to us. I will say I'm lucky to have found good friends who actually cared about me and not the money. Just kidding, I'm still coming to that, continue reading my story to find out. For as long as I could remember, I had the biggest crush on the most popular guy at school, after him was Theo of course. He didn't really have a good attitude, in fact he made fun of me every single time he got, along with his minions. His name was JASON! Surprise, surpriseeee!!!! Why am I still in love with him, you may ask? I don't know, maybe because he once took off his shirt in ninth grade for a swimming exercise and I saw his actual abs that were rock hard as a stone. Or is it his shiny glimmering eyes like the moon? Or his deep voice...urgh! Get it together, Dianne! Lol, I wish. In tenth grade, our life took a massive turn around. Dad took all of our money and wealth and left mum without a dime. Mum cried herself to sleep for months before finally accepting therapy. It was later, we found out, that he had got married to his lover. I called and called but he never picked. I found it so difficult as to understand why he would leave us like that. Everyone at school heard the news and the ones with me for my money, e.g, my arch nemesis, Claire, were the first to turn their backs on me. I guess this is why I love Sky so much. She stayed and literally fought all the bullies on my behalf. It took a lot of time to heal but we did. Theo particularly always made sure to be the father figure I wanted, even though he was my twin brother. Then, one day at dinner, while giggling with mum about a funny incident in Mathematics class, a class prank, to be precise, her cell rang. I remember Theo's joke about it. "Ouuuu, mum's got a new boyfriendddd." We all laughed. New boyfriend? Nope! It was...you'll never expect it...or you mayyyy, "Dad". Apparently, the new woman/ "wife" had conned him and left him with nothing. Seemed Karma came back to bite him. Mum was willing to take him back on my behalf because she knew how much I'd missed him. But I knew the healing she had gone through and how hard it was for her to get back on her feet. "Mum, do what you have to do. You don't have to think about me anymore. I'm no longer young.", I said, feeling smart and feeling fly. "It literally isn't up to a year", Theo burst out laughing. I glared at him for a moment before turning to mum. "Eat your food. I don't remember talking to you", I muttered. He rolled his eyes but we paused our bickering not because we wanted to but because I wanted to hear what she had to say and so did Theo. "Darlingggg....", mum started. "Mummmm?'", Theo questioned. The look on his face was very much priceless. I laughed so hard. I'm pretty sure Dad could hear me, over the phone of course. If you ask me, it was all very personal to Theo. He was never really close to Dad as much as I was. Their relationship wasn't bad but it was so obvious, that Theo didn't really want him around. "Darling???", I repeated, confused. I had to snap myself back to the present. It was actually very funny. She continued "if you don't have where to live anymore, why don't you go back to... notyourwifeanymoreberg" Theo burst out laughing. As a matter of fact, there was snot and saliva all over the chicken we were having for dinner. "Mum, that was epic. Therapy teach you that?", he giggled. "Theo", I yelled. Since then, it was just mum and the two of us. I guess Dad finally realised his mistakes and tried to own it up to us by sending us gifts when he had the chance. In fact, it was the new pair of shoes he got me that I actually intended to wear for the new school session. I guess that concludes the background. I'm late for school already...back to the storyyy, yayyy!!!!!
