Darius's POV
I stood at the window, gazing out into the darkness, my mind consumed by thoughts of Luna. She was more than just a prisoner, more than just a pawn in my game. She was the key to unlocking the ancient and deadly magic that had been hidden for centuries.
I could feel it coursing through her veins, a power that was both exhilarating and terrifying. And I knew that with the right persuasion, she would be willing to unlock it for me.
But at what cost?
I pushed the thought aside, focusing on the prize. With Luna's power, I could achieve anything. I could bend the world to my will, and no one would be able to stop me.
I turned away from the window, my eyes falling on the door that led to Luna's room. I could feel her presence, even from here. She was strong, but I was stronger; I was more experienced. And soon, she would be mine. Completely and utterly mine.
I smiled to myself, a cold, calculating smile. It was only a matter of time before I broke her, before I molded her into the tool I needed her to be. And when I did, nothing would be able to stop me. Not even the ancient Greeks.
I laughed, a low, menacing sound, and turned to leave. But as I reached the door, I felt a sudden pang of doubt. What if I couldn't control her? What if she were more powerful than I thought? I pushed the thoughts aside, telling myself I was being foolish. I was Darius, after all. I always got what I wanted.
And what I wanted was Luna's power. No matter the cost.
As I sat in the dimly lit room, I couldn't help but think about the little werewolf, Luna. Immediately, Beta Elias Storm stepped into the room, his eyes scanning the space until they landed on me.
"So, you've seen the little werewolf," I said, my voice devoid of emotion.
Beta nodded, his eyes gleaming with interest. "Yes, Darius. She's powerful. Untrained, but powerful," he said as he stroked his chin in interest.
“She is untrained, which is why I'm going to train her," I said while Beta just stayed quiet, but I knew clearly well that he was interested in what I was saying.
“You're going to train her?" He spoke after a while, while I just nodded my head in affirmation.
“It would be good if you could start the training now," he said while I shook my head in disagreement.
“ Yes, it will be good… but I can only train her when she wants to be trained,” I said, not glancing in his direction as I stuffed my hands in my pockets.
“You want to train her at her own pace?” he asked, confusion laced in his tone… though I couldn't see him, I could sense the confusion look written on his face.
“Not at her own pace. If I start training her when she's not ready, it'll be fruitless because she won't give her best," I said, still gazing at the dark sky.
“Are we going to offer her anything?" he asked while I raised my eyebrow before remembering he couldn't see me.
“We're not offering her anything; the best offer we've offered her is buying her," I said, my voice coming out colder than intended.
Of course, Elias remained silent, his piercing gaze fixed on me as if searching for something. I knew him too well to expect more; he was a master of restraint, choosing his words carefully. His silence was a calculated move, a deliberate decision to withhold his thoughts. I sensed he had more to say, but his lips remained sealed. I used my side eyes to glance at him, his expression unreadable.
Elias Storm was a man of few words, but his presence commanded attention. His observational nature made him a formidable ruler, always waiting for the perfect moment to strike. I knew better than to press him further; his patience was a weapon, and I wouldn't provoke him.
Beta, on the other hand, was strong, powerful, and valuable, but I knew I had the upper hand. A spark of confidence ignited within me; I was the one holding the reins, and I wouldn't let go.
And without much thought, I commanded the Order, “Prepare the battlegrounds!” The sound of Elias's footsteps echoed through the room, punctuated by the soft thud of the door closing behind him. His swift departure was a testament to his unwavering loyalty and understanding of my unspoken urgency. The sooner we begin, the better. Luna's training would commence immediately, regardless of her comfort level. I had already shown her mercy by providing a semblance of comfort in her gilded cage. But make no mistake, she was a prisoner – a pawn in a game she didn't fully comprehend.
Yet, I saw her differently. Luna Sable Nightshade was an enigma, a key, a rare gem forged in the depths of destiny. She held the power to unravel the tangled threads of our pack's fate, to shatter the curse that had haunted us for centuries. Her existence was a whispered promise of salvation, and I would stop at nothing to harness her potential.
As the sound of scurrying footsteps and muffled voices rose from the depths of the castle, I turned my gaze upon the door, my heart pounding with anticipation. The battlegrounds were ready, the stage set for Luna's transformation. And I, Darius Storm, would be the conductor of her symphony.
I craved to witness her true capabilities, to behold the uncharted depths of her magic. The prospect of harnessing her abilities was intoxicating, a tantalizing elixir that drove me to take the ultimate risk.
I was willing to gamble with fate itself, to dance on the edge of danger, if it meant unleashing Luna's full fury upon the world. The thrill of discovery coursed through my veins like liquid fire, propelling me forward with an unyielding determination.
As I stood poised on the precipice of this new era, I knew that the consequences of our actions would be far-reaching and potentially catastrophic. Yet, I was resolute in my pursuit, driven by an insatiable hunger to unlock the secrets of this enigmatic gem.
For I knew that Luna Sable Nightshade's true potential was not just a whispered promise, but a seismic event waiting to shatter the very foundations of our world. And I was ready to unleash the tempest. I was ready to risk a life…
