Luna's POV
My eyes fluttered open, my mind foggy and disoriented. I was met with an unfamiliar ceiling, and a faint scent of lavender wafted through the air. I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through my head, forcing me back onto the pillow.
As I struggled to remember where I was and how I got there, a gentle voice spoke from the corner of the room. "Welcome back, Luna. My name is Aria. I've been assigned to watch over you."
My gaze shifted to the speaker, a petite girl with long, curly brown hair and warm hazel eyes. Aria smiled softly and approached my bedside.
"Where am I?" I croaked, my throat parched.
"You're in the Thorn Estate," Aria replied, offering me a glass of water. "You've been brought here by...your new owner." The girl named Aria stated
My memories came flooding back - the auction, the stranger's cold eyes, the feeling of betrayal. I sat up again, more slowly this time, and took the glass from Aria.
"What do you mean, my new owner?" I asked, my voice laced with venom.
Aria hesitated before speaking. "Alpha Darius Thorn. He purchased you at the auction." That alone made me grit my teeth in anger, but I decided to keep quiet.
My eyes narrowed. "Why am I here? What does he want from me?" I said
Aria shrugged. "I don't know, Luna. But I've been told to take care of you, to make sure you're comfortable and safe." She said nonchalantly before resting her back on the chair.
I snorted, handing the glass back to Aria. "Safe? You call this safe? I'm a prisoner, Aria." I said.
Aria's expression turned sympathetic. "I know it's hard, Luna. But please, try to cooperate. It'll make things easier for both of us." She said before trying to pack her hair in a bun
I scoffed, swinging my legs over the side of the bed. "Easier? You think anything about this is easy?" I said, clenching and unclenching my fist in anger.
As I stood up, Aria rushed to my side, steadying me. My head spun, but I pushed Aria away. "I can handle myself," I said, Anger blazing in my eyes.
Aria stepped back, her eyes never leaving my face. "Okay, but please be careful. You're still weak from...whatever happened before." She said, looking unfazed about my angry outbursts.
My gaze swept the room, taking in the opulent decor and the large windows that let in a flood of sunlight. I spotted a door on the opposite side of the room and made a beeline for it.
"Where are you going?" Aria asked, hurrying after me.
"I need to get out of here," I replied, my hand on the doorknob.
Aria placed a gentle hand on my arm. "I don't think that's a good idea, Luna. You shouldn't-"
I shook her off. "I don't care what you think, Aria. I need to escape.” I said as my head kept pounding, but I ignored the pain, ready to leave once and for all.
I tried to shake off Aria's grip, but she held tight. "I can't let you go, Luna," she said, her voice firm. Suddenly, her body began to shift and contort, her limbs elongating and her senses heightening. Her beautiful hazel eyes turned yellow, and her curly brown hair grew longer and wilder.
I stumbled backward, shocked, as Aria transformed into a magnificent werewolf. Her fur was a thick, silvery gray, and her eyes gleamed with a fierce inner light. I knew I had to transform, too, to defend myself, but my body felt heavy and unresponsive. I was too weak, too drained from the auction and the journey here.
Aria's werewolf form loomed over me, her jaws open in a snarl. I cowered, trapped and helpless. But then, a deep voice boomed from the doorway. "Aria, enough!" Aria's werewolf form hesitated, then slowly backed away from me, her eyes never leaving the newcomer.
I looked up to see a tall, imposing figure standing in the doorway, his eyes fixed intently on Aria. He was even more handsome than I remembered, his chiseled features and piercing blue eyes making my heart skip a beat. But I didn't have time to dwell on his looks. He was my new owner, the one who had bought me like a piece of property.
"Alpha Darius," Aria said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I was just trying to stop her from escaping," Aria said, her eyes moving to the ground, away from Darius's gaze.
Darius's eyes narrowed, his gaze flicking to me. "I see," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "And how did you plan to stop her, Aria? By attacking her?" He said before ignoring her.
Aria's werewolf form hung its head in shame, and I felt a surge of triumph. But it was short-lived, as Darius's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze burning with intensity. "Welcome, Luna," he said, his voice low and husky. "I see you're already trying to escape. I like your spirit." He said, putting his hands in his pocket.
I glared at him, trying to hide my fear. "I won't be held prisoner," I spat, trying to sound braver than I felt.
Darius smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice dripping with menace. And with that, he walked towards me, his eyes never leaving mine…Looked at my face with an Unreadable expression before turning away from me with a possessive smirk and walking away, and whispered something to Aria before coming back to face, leaving me fazed and completely utterly speechless… leaving me toned down and quiet… with just a glance.
