Chapter 10

Charlie's P.O.V

Hours later, we were awakened by Matt screaming that we have arrived in the sunshine state. We groggily got out of the bed in the back of the vehicle and made our way out of it to join the others who were stretching their limbs.

"I feel like we all need to go to a massage parlor" I commented tilting my head side to side.

"Not a bad idea" Dakota agreed with me as he bent forward touching his toes. 

"All in favor, say aye" Matt stated "Aye" he answered along with the rest of us. 

"Where would we go?" Jace asked

"Ry, can look up a massage parlor around here? My phone is charging in the car" Matt said while turning to Ryder, he nodded and dug out his phone.

"That's funny. You shortened his name to Ry while he lengthens yours" Jace giggled

"That's not the only thing of his I could lengthen" Ryder replied suggestively with a wink, making Matt's cheeks dust a pink hue over them. Everyone else sputtered with chuckles when Matt cleared his throat.

"Anyway, we staying in a hotel or on the RV?" he asked Damon and Sebastian.

"Group vote?" Sebastian offered with his eyebrows raised.

"I say hotel" I said " It's more comfortable"

"Agreed" Jace replied

"I don't care, I could sleep on the ground and I'd be dandy" Tanner says next to me.

"Caveman" I grunt in response and he playfully shoved me.

"Hotel it is" Sebastian declared after Matt and Dakota voted for the hotel.

We found a nice hotel that we ended up booking rooms at and our rooms had balconies that over looked the beach. It was a beautiful sight. 

"I found this massage parlor just around the corner from here, I booked an afternoon session for us" Ryder piped up after we settled our belongings in our room. Tanner and I were sitting on our bed while Ryder was leaning backwards against the railing of the balcony. Tanner's phone began to ring and he dug in his pocket to grab it out to answer it.

"Trey, man what's up?....We are staying at Miami beach..........No, way....I'll let Char know...alright see you later" he ended the phone and I looked at him puzzled.

"He's here?" I asked and he nodded

"Him, Jake, Danny and Maverick are here for summer break" he informed me.

"Maybe we should've brought Lydia" I commented 

"Who's here?" Matt asked while lounging on the bed he and Ryder are to share.

"Some of our football buddies are here, they want to get together on the beach later" Tanner told him and Matt nodded.

"Do they know about you two?" Ryder asked pointing a finger at Tanner and I.

"Erm no" I mumbled.

"Alright, just want to make sure what to say and what not to say" Ryder shrugged "Should probably inform the other four as well" he added jerking his thumb toward the wall that we shared with them. Just then a knock came on our door. I got up off the bed and peeped through the hole.

"Speak of the devils and they shall appear" I said as I opened the door.

"Pfft not devils" Jace scoffed

"Ehh I can be" Dakota followed into the room

"We know that" Damon snickered while ruffling Dakota's hair. Dakota turned to return the gesture but then Damon put him in a headlock.

"When will you ever learn" Damon sighed with a smile on his face. Dakota flailed his arms, hitting Damon and Sebastian while trying to get out of Damon's hold. I raised my eyebrows as we all watched the interaction.

"Don't worry, this is a normal occurrence for them" Jace assured as he plopped into the chair at the desk in the room and started to swivel back and forth on it.

"I wouldn't even try to wrestle with him" I admitted as I watched Damon's biceps flex as he squeezed slightly, making Dakota sputter.

"Okay, uncle! Uncle!" he squealed and Damon instantly let go, leaving Dakota red and breathing heavily.  Damon grabbed his chin and pecked his lips before sitting on one of the chairs in the room. Sebastian sat on his knees while Damon wrapped his arms around his waist. Dakota went over and picked Jace up from his armpits and moved to the other chair and sat down with him in his lap.

"You guys are so cute, it's gross" I laughed and shook my head. 

"Aww don't be jelly Char, I can be all lovey dovey to you too" Tanner cooed and gave me an eskimo kiss. I smiled widely.

"You're a dork" I gently pushed my hand against him but he didn't move. We just stared into each other's eyes.

"Are you gonna like kiss or not, the suspense is killing me" Ryder's voice rang through the room. Tanner cracked a smile before placing quick kiss to my lips. 

"Oh, we were actually going to let you guys know that Tanner's best friend and some of our football buddies are here as well and want to get together later on the beach" I scanned my eyes at the four I directed my statement to. "Buuuuut they don't know about...us" I gestured between Tanner and I.

"Noted" Sebastian nodded

"You didn't tell your best friend?" Dakota asked Tanner in surprise.

"Uhhh...no" Tanner admitted, scratching the back of his neck.

"Oh gosh, I don't know if I could've survived not telling anyone" Dakota replied.

"Definitely a hard thing to do" Jace muttered, making Dakota lightly squeeze him in response. 

"You eventually did" Dakota countered

"Not willingly" he retorted 

"Touché" 

"So, now that, that has been addressed...Our massage is in two hours, let's get a light lunch and head over" Ryder stated.

Everyone got up and filed out of the room and out of the hotel, taking a small stroll to a café, conveniently next to the massage place. We ate some club sandwiches and enjoyed some lemonade or tea before we went and attended our appointments next door.

"Oh my goodness, that was glorious!" Jace exclaimed as we exited the parlor. 

"I'm just glad they were women" Dakota grumbled

"What? Didn't enjoy it?" I teased

"Just don't like seeing others touching what's mine" he admitted with a shrug.

"They literally get paid to do it, chill my little spitfire" Damon cooed wrapping his arms around Dakota's midsection. 

"Could've gave a happy ending" Tanner snickered while Dakota made a gagging sound.

"No thank you" Dakota shuttered

"Agreed" Damon and Jace piped up.

"Maybe we'll get some color on our skin from the oil they used" Matt randomly blurted making everyone laugh.

"That was random" Jace giggled.

"Hey, you and me both need some color on our pale asses" Matt retorted. "All we need is glitter and we'd look like the Cullens!" he added and Jace smacked his arm.

"No" Jace muttered.

"Jay, you'd be a cute vampire" Sebastian said

"Dakota thinks so too" Jace said sticking out his tongue. Tanner's phone rang in his pocket again.

"Hey, yeah...be there soon" Tanner said and hung up. "They are at the beach already" he notified us.

"Alright, let's grab our s**t and let's go" Dakota said as we headed back to the hotel. 

After changing into our swim trunks and grabbing our beach stuff, we headed out to the sandy beach. 

"Wait! let's bring our cooler for drinks and stuff" Ryder mentioned before we got too far. 

"Good thinking" Damon said and ran to the room to grab our cooler. We went to a shack store to purchase some bottled water and pops with some ice before we set out for the sand.

"It's so beautiful here" Jace commented as we trudged through the sand to find a spot to set our stuff out. We picked a spot with some free space between other groups of people occupying the beach as well. 

"I can't wait to go to school here" I commented, stripping my shirt off.

"You're going to school around here?" Jace asked while everyone else started to strip their tops as well.

"Well, no, our school is in northern Florida" I told him and he nodded then I looked at Tanner "You should tell them exactly where we set up" 

"Already did, there they are" he said and pointed to a group of eight walking toward us. I immediately recognized Trey, Danny, Jake and Maverick from the group. 

"Double T is back together" Trey announced as they stopped in front of us, giving Tanner a bro shake and hug. "What's up man?" 

"Awesome that you're here bro" Tanner said with a smile and it made me happy to see him happy. "Let me introduce you to our friends" he added turning to our group and pointing to each one of them and stating their names. 

"Everyone, this is my best friend Trey, Danny, Jake, and Maverick. I have to apologize because I do not know the rest of your group" Tanner said with a chuckle.

"No worries man, this is Jake's girl Chelsea, Danny's girl Sarah, Kayla and Maverick's cousin-"

"Harrison" I finished once I finally recognized tanned, green eyed and trimmed black haired man next to Maverick.

"Yeah...you two know each other?" Trey questioned

"You could say that" I replied 

"Hey Charlie" Harrison said with a wide smile. Tanner looked at me quizzically and I shook my head subtly in a way that I hope he understood that I'd tell him later. 

"Well this is weird, so who wants to play some volleyball?" Trey asked our group while holding a volleyball. Damon, Sebastian, Dakota and Ryder said they would so they started to the court.

"Give us a minute" I told Trey and he nodded before him and his group went over to decide who was playing. 

"What was that?" Tanner immediately asked.

"You know how I told you I had two flings?" I said while playing with my fingers. He hummed in understanding

"Was he the bottom one or top?" he asked lowly.

"Top" I muttered 

"Figures"

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked incredulously.

"I'm just saying I couldn't see you topping him...not that I want to picture that now anyway" he grimaced. 

"Yeahhh" I said awkwardly.

"Well this is an awko taco moment" Matt chimed in, eavesdropping on our conversation. Although, we weren't being too quiet for them to hear as they were like two feet away on beach towels laid on the sand. 

"We should probably go over to play" I nudged Tanner and we looked to see Chelsea and Sarah sunbathing on the sidelines, leaving the rest to play. We walked over and got into the open spaces that were left for us on our side. 

After a couple games, we tied the amount of times we won to the times we lost. Now, we were all sweaty and thirsty. 

"Do you guys have refreshments?" I asked Trey and them and they nodded. I ran over to our cooler and took out three waters for Ryder, Sebastian, Tanner and Damon before going back to chug one myself before getting another. I breathed heavily as I glanced over to Tanner to see Kayla, whom I learned is Harrison's friend, chatting Tanner up, cackling with her head thrown back as she was squeezing his arm. 

"You sick b***h" Harrison's voice sounded lowly into my ear. I jumped and turned around to face him. "He's the reason you didn't want a relationship with me, isn't it?" 

"What are you talking about?" I asked 

"You had the look of jealousy and want on your face...I know you don't do v****a so that leaves your brother in that picture" he snidely said. "You know that's illegal, right?" 

Well s**t. I didn't know I was being that obvious.

"You're delusional" I stated with a roll of my eyes

"Oh? So how else do you explain the look on your face?" he asked 

"Because my boyfriend is talking to a twink" I spouted out a lie. 

"Who's your boyfriend?" he asked raising his eyebrows. I looked over, Damon and Ryder were standing not too far away from where Tanner was standing with Kayla. That'd pass off, right?

"There" I said pointing to Damon.

"Isn't the twink part of your friends?"

"Well yeah, but he's still a twink" I said "and flirting with my boyfriend" I quickly added.

"He's your boyfriend?" he asked with a smile and disbelief evident in his tone. I nodded "Prove it" he then added. I swallowed the lump in my throat. I turned my body toward the direction Damon was in.

"Damon!" I called and he looked over and I motioned him to come here. He said something to Ryder before he started a light jog over to us. I gave him a stressed look and he gave me a questioning look.

"What's up?" he asked once he was next to us. 

"Just was wondering if you wanted another water babe" I said and gave an awkward smile.

"No..I'm good" he looked at me oddly. I gave him a pleading look in hopes he plays along.

"Aww you're being such a good little boyfriend Charlie" Harrison said with a smirk.

"Yeah, can't let my babe get thirsty" I said with an awkward laugh and wrapped my arms around Damon's bicep. Damon looked down at me and I cursed myself and prayed everyone would understand after I do this.

 I leaned up and connected our lips.

 Surprisingly, he didn't pull away in anger or disgust like I thought he would. He moved his lips softly against mine for a second before we pulled away from each other. I sent him grateful eyes before looking back at Harrison. He looked pleased yet still suspicious.

"Well, I'll leave you two love birds alone then" he said before he sauntered away. I dropped my arms from Damon with a sigh of relief.

"Explain. Now." he quietly demanded. I grimaced and looked over his shoulder to see Tanner's mouth dropped open while Sebastian had a hand placed on an angry Dakota's chest while in the other direction, Matt was holding Jace into the crook of his neck.

 f**k me. I know it's entirely my fault.

"He was a fling who wanted a relationship but I told him we couldn't have a relationship because I was head over heels for someone else...so we stopped seeing each other....well I guess I was being obvious about seeing Kayla all over Tanner and he started saying how sick I was and how it's illegal so I panicked and said that I was just jealous because my boyfriend was flirting with a twink so he said prove it...and then yeah here we are" I scratched the back of my neck as a nervous habit.

"I'm sorry, I truly am. It was very shitty for me to do. You can punch me, kick me, beat the s**t out of me. I deserve it" I said defeatedly.

 It was silent for a minute before he spoke again.

"I'm not going to do any of those things" he sighed and rubbed his head "I understand why you did it, but next time don't make it so obvious so then you won't have to pull a charade like that. Especially with a taken man" he said sternly.

"I'm sorry" I frowned "I'll explain everything to-" I said quickly but he put a hand up to silence me.

"Don't worry, I'll handle it. I partook in it willingly" he stated.

"Well I want them to know how sorry I am too though" I stressed.

"Fine, we will have a group chat later back in the rooms" he said with finality before squeezing my hand and walking back over to Ryder. I seen that Harrison had an eye on the two of us as Damon parted. Tanner continued chatting with Kayla as Trey and the rest gathered around him and her. Dakota and Sebastian hurried over to Damon but he just waved it off, which seemed to upset Dakota even more before sending a glare my way. I casted my eyes downward before flicking them over to Jace. I felt my heart drop as I seen him wiping his eyes. I blew a raspberry and chugged the rest of my water before I took a jog into the water. 

What a lovely day.

"WHAT THE f**k WAS THAT?!?!" Dakota immediately started on me as we quietly made our back to our hotel rooms. Well technically into Tanner, Ryder, Matt and I's room. Ryder laid on their bed while Matt and Jace sat quietly on the other side of their bed.  Tanner and the other three surrounded our bed that I was sitting on. Jace and Tanner haven't spoken to me or Damon at all since the incident.

"Calm down" Sebastian told him.

"CALM DOWN?" he asked incredulously then points at me. "This guy kisses Damon out of the blue and you're telling me to calm down?"

"Yes" Sebastian simply says "I'm sure there was a logical reason for it"

"Doubt it" Dakota murmured and Sebastian sighed before turning to Damon.

"Love, please explain" he asked placing a hand on his arm with a worried expression. Damon quickly explained what I had told him and he explained he partook because he could see the desperation in my eyes.

"I'm not saying what I did was okay, but it was just to help out a friend" he finished explaining. 

"I'm genuinely sorry for getting him involved. Honestly, I just picked him because nobody would f**k with him..I mean look at him" I said while gesturing to his being. Damon gave me a deadpan stare as everyone else was silent. "Okay, not funny, but seriously...I apologize for my stupidity" I said with sincerity. 

"I accept your apology" Sebastian said "I don't like that you kissed him" he said sternly "however, I would've done the same if I was in his shoes" he nodded as he finished. I was relieved with one of the brothers accepting my apology. I looked worriedly at Dakota and Jace. Jace's eyes were red and puffy from crying. 

"I guess I can understand why it happened" Jace's small voice said. His sad eyes met mine and I frowned.

"I'm in your debt, tell me to do anything and I'll do it" I pleaded him and he gave a nod. 

"Jump off a bridge" Dakota muttered, earning a smack on the arm from Damon. "Ow!" he screeched and Damon gave him a look. "Fine, fine, you're forgiven...whatever" he grumbled and crossed his arms. Not exactly the most sincere acceptance but I can't be picky, especially in this situation.

"Alright, it's late so let's head to bed" Sebastian clapped his hands. Matt gave Jace an extra big hug.

"Love you Jem!" he told him

"Love you too Mattsy" he replied before saying goodnight to both him and Ryder. He said goodnight to Tanner and then gave me a small wave. I can tell I'm not fully forgiven by the youngest two but I hope in time we will be back to normal. The four left the room and then silence was throughout the whole room. 

"I'm going to go for a walk, Matthew, come with me" Ryder said while getting off the bed and hooking his arm with Matt's to tug him up and stride out of the door. 

Tanner let out a frustrated breath and then walked out to the balcony, putting his hands on the railing. I quietly followed and leaned against the door frame, watching him.

"You know, you could've just said you had a boyfriend back home" he said and I sighed.

"That wouldn't have explained why I was looking all jealous" I said softly. He rubbed his forehead with his hand.

"I never thought I'd feel like that with you" he muttered

"What do you mean?" I questioned curiously.

"The jealously, the pang of hurt to the heart to see you kiss someone else" he admitted while turning and leaning back against the railing.  "I know it was to keep us a secret but it still felt like cheating...well it really was" he trailed off and I scrunched my eyes

"I know, I'm sorry....I would've never done it in a million, trillion years but it was to keep us discreet" I said sadly.

"I love you Tanner, I really do... so much...I just panicked because it is very illegal and he wouldn't buy a half ass lie" 

"I know" he replied and grabbed my hands "Just promise, no more kissing other people or friends" he stated.

"I swear I won't" I told.

"Okay, now go brush your teeth and wash your mouth so I can kiss you" he said and I immediately complied by brushing my teeth and washing my lips off. It may have been an absurd request but I will comply to get Tanner kisses. I went back into the room from the bathroom to see him laying under the covers. I lifted the blankets on my side and snuggled in next to him, while looking into his eyes.

"I'm in love with Tanner Isaac Verlice" I said sincerely and he gave a wide smile.

"I love you too Charlie William Verlice" he cutely said before connecting our lips in a sweet and loving kiss. 

To ruin the cute moment, muffled sounds of moaning from various mouths came floating through the wall from the room next door and a gruff "Yours" was repeated. Tanner and I looked at each other before laughing quietly.

"They say make up s*x is the best" I said before laying my head on Tanner's chest. 

"We'll get there soon...I'll store this in the books so we have to make up for it later" he mumbled as I listened to his heartbeat.

"Deal" I chuckled.
