CHAPTER ELEVENLord Wye awoke in one of his moods. “When ’is Lordship has a fit of the sullens,” his valet said to Mrs. Maltravers, “I keeps me mouth shut and says nothin’.” Breakfast was eaten in gloomy silence and then Lord Wye hurried out of the house as if he had an important engagement.
