“I… I don’t know,” Camila replied, her voice shaking. Damien said nothing. He simply stared at her, waiting. The silence that followed was far more terrifying than any threat he could have made and Camila could feel his gaze fixed on her, studying every small movement. “I was hired through an anonymous site,” she continued, forcing herself to speak despite the fear building inside her. “The client’s information is never revealed.” She hoped her explanation would be enough, but the man sitting across from her remained completely unmoved.
