Celeste moved from where she was standing and took a seat on the chair across from Damien.
Damien remained silent with his expression neutral. Celeste wasn’t sure what Damien was thinking as she could not read his expression, but she decided to continue talking anyway.
“Damien…”
At the mention of his name, Damien slowly raised his head to look at her with a warning expression and Celeste quickly understood.
“Mr. Blackwood.” She corrected herself. “I’m Evelyn’s sister and I know her more than anyone else. She doesn’t love you and that’s why she wanted me to take her place.”
Celeste rested her hands on the desk and allowed tears to stream down her cheeks.
“I agreed to it immediately because… I’m in love with you Da… Mr. Blackwood.”
