And then there was the matter of the other girl, one Jadwiga Dąbrowska, whose role in all this had not been at all adequately explained. He had the uncomfortable impression of two children running off to make trouble, and somehow, he had been roped into aiding and abetting without being allowed to supervise. It did help just a little bit that, when he expressed his concerns, the Dąbrowska person promptly and rather smugly demonstrated her skill at producing blades from somewhere on her figure and throwing them with alarming accuracy.
