Arden’s POV I woke up in a pool of sweat despite the air-conditioner being on the coldest setting, and cold mist pouring out of my nostrils. Sitting up slowly, I looked around me as though expecting to see something about the dream, but there was nothing. The worst part about this was the emptiness in my chest. For the first time, there was this sense of being incomplete. I knew I was supposed to have a feeling attached to waking up from such a dream, but there was nothing—other than hollowness. I swung my feet off the bed and glanced at my reflection in the mirror at the end of the room. My eyes still had that same lifelessness in them, like a dead man.
