The room felt stuffy.
It was quite spacious, but for completely unknown reasons, I couldn't breathe.
It took every ounce of strength I had not to pass out right there. I didn't know what pressure the remaining members of the Morreti family were exerting, but it was certainly proving difficult to outlast it.
The stares lasted no longer than a few seconds, but to me, it felt like an eternity.
The Morretis returned their attention to their food, losing all interest completely in me.
Under normal circumstances, I would have found this rude and would've probably complained, but with the way things were looking, it seemed like my head was going to leave my neck if I uttered the wrong words.
