Edrick’s POV I stood there, watching her disappear up the staircase with her sketchpad clutched to her chest like a shield, and I felt something break inside me. Frustration. Hurt. Want. All tangled in a knot so tight it made breathing painful. Avoiding me for nearly two weeks was already driving me insane. But running away right after I told her I liked her? That was torture. Because I knew she felt it too. I saw it in the way she kissed me back like she was starving. I felt it in the way she trembled when I touched her. So why the hell was she fighting it so hard?
