Waking up in the brightly lit living room made Ulric wish he could shut his eyes again. His eyes burned, and he let out a groan of pain before he lifted his arm, which felt heavy, and flopped it over his face. What the hell had happened to him? No sooner had the question floated through his head, Ulric heard Cindy’s voice cut through the air.
