Men.
They were creatures fueled by the most absurd things.
Be it a bursting cleavage or a perky ass, a lady could just bat their lashes and have them at the top of their fingers. They were that simple and easy.
It had just taken Emma sweet words and a little kiss to have Kaegan on her bed undressing her.
He took time to peel off the clothes on her body, memorizing every inch of her skin. wasn't anywhere near his mind.
Hell, her name was like a distinct memory, echoing behind his mind but Emma's moans were like spells to his ears making him forget all virtue he had ever known.
His fingers played with her t**s, twisting and pinching as he took time to bring her pleasure.
"f**k Keagan" she moaned when he took her n****e into his mouth "The things you do to me"
Emma knew this was wrong, for the moon goddess' sake she was once in a pair of nightwear had borrowed her but she couldn't bring herself to stop- anyone would leap power, a better life, you name it.
Keagan captured her lips, going in and out of her, the pleasure blinding his sight as he came with a groan. He lay on top of Emma, breathing her deeply.
That's when what he had just done came crashing down on him- he had f****d his wife's best friend while she was in the room beside them.
lay on her bed, the little light glittering into the room made her aware it was Dawn.
"What is this?" She muttered, her insides felt hollow and she could remember the mentally uneasiness she had felt last night, the pain that made her feel she was drowning in a pit of fire- she remembered it all.
She reached out for her wolf, gasping when she heard nothing. There was no way this was ordinary.
She left her bed and ambled into the sitting room, surprised to see Kaegan sitting there not dressed for work.
"Did you sleep well last night?"
Oh, this was new, Kaegan hadn't been interested in how she had slept since their first year of marriage, and he felt happy.
"Yes, I did, you weren't in bed last night?" She smiled trying to start a conversation with her husband.
He nodded stiffly "I went out for work" and brought the mug sitting on the table to his lips.
"No work today?" She asked eagerly, she wanted to spend some time with him-she yearned for it.
"I took the day off, could you make me some breakfast?"
What had happened to him? He seemed like the Kaegan she once knew.
"Sure, give me some few minutes" She walked away, nothing could bring a smile off her face not even when her mother-in-law called her useless as she passed her by.
She was sure the meal was going to be delicious, she danced around the kitchen as she made them an English breakfast- Pancakes and scrambled eggs.
Kaegan always loved it.
Calling them for breakfast, they all ate, small talk here and there.
"It has been a while around her" Emma said id bringing Kara's attention to her "since Kaegan is home today, let's drive around town and check things out. Do you mind?"
She really shouldn't have said 'anything', she could feel her smile Weaver as she fought to keep it in place.
Today was supposed to be about her and her husband not some tour date Emma wanted to arrange. Before she could voice out her disagreement Kaegan agreed, making her pull back her objection.
"Great," Emma smiled widely clapping her hands together in excitement. At least one of them was happy. "We should go get dressed"
Kara scowled, cleaning up the table after them.
*****
Keagan drove and Emma to the park for a picnic, Emma sat in the passenger seat after she had said she was prone to motion sickness.
"I never knew we had a park around this place," Emma said in astonishment.
"We just developed it a year back" Keagan answered.
sat at the back of the car watching Emma ask questions while Keagan answered calmly, she noticed how her husband was gentle with Emma and felt uneasy. She wasn't accustomed to the feeling of Keagan being gentle towards another woman.
Emma looked back at who had been strangely quiet "Are you okay back there?" She asked with a smile on her face
"Yes" responded, tipping her lips up in a way that would have surely looked like a grimace, she remembered how much she had helped her back in their college days and she blamed herself for feeling angry. She trusted both her best friend and her husband.
If she hadn't received Emma's care before, then she would have been bullied by more people. The campus bullying was brought about by her Omega status. Emma was the only one who didn't care at that time, she had stood up for her when everyone else didn't see a reason to and in return would help Emma buy a lot of the cakes she liked at that time, even though it would cost her all her pocket money.
"Kara" Emma called "Do you remember when we would come to the park each day because we wanted free ice cream?" She laughed.
"That old man would always chase us away because he was afraid we were going to fall sick from the amount of ice cream we had each day" joined in, throwing her head back in laughter. Those were good times.
"How did you guys become friends?" Keagan asked, looking at Emma and then back at the road "She is an Omega and then you are the daughter of an Alpha" he added.
"Well, I was a fan of the cake always brought to me" She responded jokingly, looking back at to wink. "Why did you choose Kara?"
"We are mates," he said dismissively.
"Oh" Emma was shocked, that Kara and Keagan were mates "I never knew an Alpha and an Omega could mate"
Kara laughed awkwardly, feeling how the air stilled around her, beads of sweat going down her forehead because she had no mate sense for Keagan unilaterally.
