Benjamin Reed The portal dumped me out onto frozen dirt really hard and brutal. “Ouch!” I groaned the second I landed. I hit the ground knees-first, my breath punched out of me. I didn't see any pack house, or any lights that gave me any clue on where I was. But I was glad I was far away from that dreadful place. All I saw were just tall and dark trees, with faint animal sounds echoing through the dark forest. Just like the time I used to go hunting alone. I stayed down for a second, with my chest heaving.
