Chapter 3: December 23rdThe following morning, Zachariah struggled to remain awake even after he’d downed two large cups of coffee. Björn had looked at him for a long time before he’d grabbed a thermos from Zack’s cupboard and filled it with coffee and milk. He handed the thermos to Zack with a self-satisfied hum and opened the door of the flat for him. Zack murmured a thanks as he stumbled out of the apartment. “Turn left there,” Zachariah said as they neared an intersection. “Then right on the second street.” Björn hummed in acknowledgment and followed his instructions. The radio wasn’t turned on but neither of them seemed inclined to fiddle with it.
