CHAPTER 4

THE ORPHANAGE

Nyre's POV

I laid on my bed thinking about today's incident, and i felt chills all over my body . I was shocked , and iwas still trying to comprehend it.

Rihanna's words then resounded in my head " Do you even know who darien is ? "

Out of curiousity i clicked on google to check out his name , his full name was Darien Ridgeway , i had catched a glimpse of that from his note while i was peering when he was solving the physics question.

I input his name in to the search box

I saw his family's name Ridgeway . Darien happens to be the son of a particular elite family of educationist . His dad Proffessor collins Ridgeway was a reknowned proffessor of mathematics with a lot of publications on statistics to his name , his mum wasnt any different as she was also a Proffessor of literature , his sister too was a researcher at research institute of technology TC

and darien was the last child of the family .

The information was suprising as he came off to me as someone with a humble background .

If he was this rich and humble i wondered how rihanna and rex's family will be doing. I made a mental note to find out their surnames tomorrow .

It was just 8pm but i was tired and sleepy , i guess it was because i was mentally drained i put off my phone as i drift off to dream land.

NEXT MORNING

Nyre POV

I woke up with a sour mood , the morning was cold i looked acrossed the room to see my roomate sleeping .

I tiptoed to the bathroom careful not to interrupt her sleep . I had my bath and got dressed for school . I walked out of the orphanage without eating .

I got to school early walking freely in the hallway as other students seemed to not have gotten to school today.

I walked to the my class , and saw the cleaner in cleaning up the class , i walked over to Rex table to check his name and saw that it was Rex andrew .

I did not want to stay in the class alone , infact i hated been alone or in the dark so i left the class and moved to the hall ways and trying each doors of classes . After a fruitless attempt i decided to go to the last floor at the roof top .

I walked up there as my stomach grumbled in protest , i was starting to feel hungry and i regretted not eating before leaving home.

The roof top was a nice view , i was able to see all the school facilities , the field ,the bus park and others school structures i had not even seen before.

I definitely will be coming back here i told my self .

My stomach grumbled again and i tap it whispering like i was trying to cajole it , just keep quiet , you cant be filled for now you have to survive it till we get home .

Almost immediately i heard a sound at my back and saw rex on his headset , he looked engrossed in whatever he was doing on his phone , he probably did not know he made any sound .

I stared at him from where i was . He was close to perfect with dark blond hair, bright blue eyes, chiseled features, strong jawline, and a charming smile, exuding a bad boy look at the same time good boy . Just as i was about to look away , he removed his headset and raised his head and said

" Are you done checking me out " he looked at me lazily

" you could have done it descreetly you know and not make it soo obvious" He added

I retracted by gaze in embarrasement as i felt blood rush to my cheeks .

He picked up his bag and left the roof top

I was surprised and embarrassed as i did not expect him to talk to me or look up , as i said he looked engrossed in his phone.

i also did not think i was staring that bad ,

I knew he was snubbish now being rude was a plus one to his negative character chart.

I waited for some minutes after he had left the roof top before going to class.

REX's POV

I was enjoying the peace of the rooftop when i heard foot steps . I saw that it was the new girl . She walked up to the railings and i heard her complimenting her belly , or should i say reprimanding it . I tried hard not to make any sound but i failed as she glanced at me surprised as though she was not expecting me there . I pretended to be engrossed in my phone .

She did not take her eyes off me and i felt like she was checking me out , almost every girl does that and i really do not like it. I looked up to catch her face , she seemed flushed for been caught gawking .

Almost as a reflex i spoke " hope you enjoyed checking me out " my eyes staring intensely at her .

" you could have done it descretely you know and not make it soo obvious" i added.

I walked out of the place skeptical hoping i did not sound so rude . I shrugged it off , i mean why do i care. Why did i speak to her in the first place .

The hallways echoed with noise , as student hanged around in pairs . I walked up to my class uncomfortably due to the stares i was recieving . I got to the class and walked to my seat.

Suddenly Rihanna waved at me , i knitted my brows in suprise and quickly wore my usual cold look . I had never liked the girl , she had tried to speak with me a couple of times but i did not give her the chance . Her family were not so much of a competiton to the andrew's conglomerate but my dad wants a partnership with them . She seems interested in me and she was making it so obvious that it was irritating.

All girls were the same , obsessed with guys that had handsome look and was rich . I did not want to have anything to do with them .
